Qb Next Year

Draft a QB Day 3 or bring in an UDFA to compete with Falk. Play whichever while you spend the majority of your draft resources on Defense. Only sign value players in FA. 2019 is going to be a bullshit season either way. Gase and the FO put themselves in this position. Ross shouldn't give them the option of crippling the future for the sake of another mediocre finish.

Nobody is paying Brock close to $10 million based on the way he is playing. And Gase needs a dependable QB he feels he can win with now! Because if he doesn't realize his job is on the line next season he's even dumber than Burke's beard.
Hes outplaying Tannehill by a fairly large margin.

I agree but in reality it is either 26 Mill (keep), 13 Mill (trade or cut before June 1) or 7.5 Mill (trade or cut post June 1). Now pick your poison.
You are looking at it the wrong way. Cutting Tannehill SAVES 13 million in cap space. Yes, it is money gone but we get savings that could be spent somewhere else and Ryan is finally gone. No more illusions of he might be great one day. It makes you do something at that position instead of just standing still.

Seriously, though, if I was coaching, Ryan is gone as is Fales and/or Osweiler. I would be doing some serious evaluating Falk right now to see if I think he can be the QB of the future. If I think so, based on his tapes/film and what I have seen in practice, then I just bring in a placeholder like keeping one of Osweiler or Fales or someone else to keep the pressure off of Falk. If I don't think he is the future answer then I am exploring every short term and long term answer that there is out there.

Once Ross cleans house after this year with a new Football operations guy ,GM, coaches, scouts and personnel guys. Maybe we will find that diamond in the rough that we’ve all dreamed for since Marino. Well this is what I dreamt about last night anyways . Usually I’m getting jacked up and anxious for the Dolphins game today sorta nice knowing I won’t be destroying my health today and can just relax and watch real NFL teams play

I fully believe this is Tannehills last year in Miami. There is no way we let him steal 19m of our money next season. If Gase allows Tannehill to play another season, especially with his cap, it could put Gases job in jeopardy as well. If Gase is smart he will go after the top 3 QBs in this draft and allow someone to start while they sit. It would buy him atleast a year or two. And as far as people looking at the 2020 draft instead of this season, those guys will be in high demand and go high in that draft. Were not bad enough to pick top 5. Fix the problem asap, Gase cant afford to wait, his job may be on the line.

Those are the options, but I don't see it as being simple, unless you are one of those calling for tanking next season.

If you are in that camp, cutting him post June1st makes sense in that the cap space savings can be used to secure (long term) players like X by front loading their contracts. Sounds risky, but that's a risk/reward judgment.

If you just want to stay the course, then RT is your signal caller for another year, and you draft his replacement, taking an early round QB next year, AND a first round 2020 pick.

I don't see cutting him before the deadline. You would be paying 13 mil for him to be a backup for someone else.

With the cap rules in the NFL, the best move is to own up to your mistakes quickly and take the pain. You CANNOT have Ryan Tannehill costing $26M against the cap in 2019. And you can’t restructure your way out of it. You have to accept the consequences of a bad contract and move on. Otherwise, you end up damaging multiple seasons, rather than just 2019.

All these people saying we just need to cut Tannehill. Who are we gonna pick up If we cut him. $13 million is dead money and we save $13 millionwhich is gonna have to go straight to a new QB because we don't have another. Brock is on a one year deal. If we bring him back as the starter, he not gonna play for $850k like this year. You want to pay Brock $7-10 million to be the QB? Falk and Fales aren't the answer. Both have pop warner arms. Gase isn't gonna roll into the season with Falk or Fales with his *** on the line. No way.

We got two games with the bills, Colts, and Jets at home. Worst we do is 2-2 with 3-1 very likely even with how bad it's looked. Draft isn't an option for a starter. I'm not trading the franchise away for any of these QB, when the 2020 group is a year away. So with the whopping $13 million we saved who is this mysterious QB we are gonna get? I think thill is here next year unless his arm has fallen off.

Why? So this fan base can call him a bust, he sucks etc. If he doesn't come out playing like Marino after his 2nd game?

No thanks! This fanbase doesn't deserve to win a darn thing.

Looking at it this way you are absolutely right. I was just pointing out the ridiculous situation we are in mainly because of his redo of the contract last season.

Herbet would mostly likley go one to the NY giants so your not ‘trading up’

I still think 2 of the QB’s that are on tbe roster have a good chance of being here next year, based on the way things set up- cap wise, draft wise etc
