Dolphins Contacting Teams On Ryan Tannehill

The Dolphins can’t even give Tannehill (still in his prime years) away, and some of you really bought into the idea that this dude was good, and even blasted other posters who claimed the obvious that he wasn’t LMAO

False argument. The issue is his contract relative to what he is ( an average to slightly below NFL starter).

Still don't understand football and contracts hey?

IF Tannehill comes out and says no to any restructure of his current deal. Trade talk; is over just release him and move on.

You have the same analytical skills as AOC.

Common sense isn't common. .....He's common sense challenged.

One statement in that sentence is wrong. I will let you figure out which one it is.

Well Mullens had an 6.74 Any/A last year which is 1.16 better than Tannehills career average and almost .5 above his best single season. I did use Mullen's cap hit vs. Tannehill's cap hit if he were to be traded - $570,000 vs. $18,725,000 which is 3%. If we are using Tannehill's cap number if he were to stay with Dolphins it would be 2.1%

Yup. The same people who used to say how much of a deal Tannehill's contract was, are now saying that it is the only reason he can't be traded. It's been obvious for years that Tannehill is not a starting NFL QB.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean there's no demand for him....teams need two QB's these days. You'll be surprised at the demand once he hits the open market.

Sounds like a majority of GMs see him as a backup QB, and that's where the issue lies.

Can't say I disagree with them.

Gase said Tannehill was soooo good in Miami, so...

I think something happened around the third or fourth game last year that broke the relationship between Gase and Tannehill. I never could determine exactly what it was.

I suspect that Tannehill misrepresented his physical condition to Gase. I'm not talking about a "it's not that bad" kind of a thing an aggressive player says to stay in the game. I'm talking about something like " my shoulder is all better or it isn't effecting my game" when it clearly is. Lying to your coach is always a deal breaker in the NFL.

I also suspect he was regressing in his ability to read the defense after being away for a long period of time. With the free time he had available he should have been able to study and improve that aspect of his game.

Gase is a coach who will work with you up to the point the player becomes more of a problem than an asset. We saw this with AJ, who wanted to run his way and not follow the play or games situational requirements. I think we saw it with RT when he compounded his lack of availability with what I believe was a reversal of intellectual growth.

It will be interesting to see the results of how the front office handles RT's situation. My best guess is his contract is too big to dump and too big to allow for a trade. We are likely to have him on the roster this season. If that's the case, I suspect we will use him along with some of the other QB's already on our roster.

This may be the biggest challenge our new coaching staff needs to deal with, since I think it is unlikely we bring in a new QB this season due to our financial situation combined with all the other areas where our new coaching staff determines we need new players.

It's obvious that the GM wanna-be's cant comprehend he's going into his 8th year and will play on another team.

Stick to your day job.

Which AAF team?? Lol

I kid...he'll wind up on some NFL team but most probably as a backup. Don't be surprised if he winds up on the Titans backing up Mariota (but, obviously, they or anyone will wait until he's cut to sign him).
