Quinn To Be A Cowboy Soon??

Please explain what your objection is.

My objection is everything, everything is wrong. It starts with the owner who is willing to pay 5 million dollars for a fourth round pick in 2020, just dishing cash out to a departing player; to Chris Grier who has the nerve to ask for that and do it, and increase the cap hit this year so he can play around and "improve" the team "next year." That stuff should not even be mentioned between normal people.

My objection is to the five year plan, because there is no such thing. There is only one plan, one standard, and that is to win now, do now, get sht done now. Otherwise it is a dereliction of duty. They are fkn around.

My objection is that they have not traded up yet for the most important thing, the QB.

My objection is to scrapping the DE position because it creates holes unnecessarily. Robert Quinn is perfectly fine at DE, and not too expensive. Quinn had 6.5 sacks and is paid 12 mil, and that is just fine. He was on a contract for one more year.

My objection is they will use draft capital unnecessarily to fill holes they created! It's a waste of time and resources, and it is damaging.

My objection is to paying Quinn 1.1 million to have a right to trade him for a "late rounds" pick. It's a waste of cash and cap room, and it goes back to dereliction of duty to do now. It is just mind boggling to waste cash and cap like that.

My objection is with infatuation with late rounds picks which are of negligible value, 80 points at best in fourth round instead of keeping a perfectly fine player to help the team this season.

Wasting cash, wasting cap, scrapping the team, intentionally creating holes, selling a pipe dream of results in the future, not getting critical things done. It's all a part of Chris Grier overall fraud.

Dude in what universe are we competing this year? What happens when Quinn becomes a free agent next year? He’s signing with Dallas for one year AND they’re giving us draft capital AND we don’t have to carry all of his salary this year when it would be a waste.

Let the younger cheaper guys develop, and draft D this year in a hugely talented D draft

Largo, so what I'm getting from your objections is to win now, we need to keep our aging players and try to sign and draft players to fill the holes on the team?

As logical as that may sound....... IT HASNT WORKED FOR US IN TWENTY YEARS!!!

Embrace that change, and hope these picks are not squandered.

I've went into the last 7 seasons knowing we had a dumpster fire as a QB and I still had to suffer though it.

In my opinion the unknown of right now is 100% better than what weve been doing for a decade.

Senorise Perry RB, Buffalo Bills

Bills signed RB Senorise Perry, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
Like teammate Frank Gore, Perry will make the move from Miami's backfield to Buffalo. Unlike Gore, he is unlikely to get many carries. Perry will help out on special teams if he sticks on the roster.

You're aware that the Patriots routinely let players walk for big contracts elsewhere, yeah? That goes against that "do everything to win now" mindset, doesn't it?

No wonder that team never wins anything! They do everything backwards!

I didn't think, the compensation for Quinn, would be anything more than a 5th. Everyone knows Miami is going to release him at some point. Dallas played it smart. But at least the trade will clear Quinn off the books and Miami can potentially use whatever cap savings for other plans? I'm still hoping for a 4th but not optimistic. After all, Miami does have a good track record, of late in the 5th round.

.

"Aging" players are in the secondary. Reshad, and TJ. That is a BIG problem going forward. And it is a problem not just because of the age, but because of the contracts. Because of performance. Reshad is not elite. TJ is a tweener.
Robert Quinn is 28, that is not aging, that is a prime player. Juwuan James was not aging. He is in his prime!

To make matters worse, Minkah is a tweener too -- a nickel corner. Howard is not an elite athlete, 40 time, three cone are nowhere near elite, and he wants to get paid next year as an elite player.

That is where the problems are, and they are HUGE. And the huge problems are in the area where the Dolphins MUST improve immediately to win. They must get elite now across the board, all four positions.

Instead they scrapped the team of a perfectly fine DE and OT, even though there was money to pay them, and they created holes there. Meanwhile nothing is done about the QB, and the HUGE problem in the secondary. Matter of fact, they want to pay Howard, that is why they are scrapping the team.
It's a mess.

if we dont pay his salary, am I right in thinking that there woud be 0 interest in Quinn?

TJ McDonald is 28 and “aging”

Robert Quinn is 28 and “not aging “
