2016 Coaching Data Base

Tomsula would be a very good Dline coach. Has alot of experience..He was in over his head as a HC, doesn't mean he isn't a good position coach. Seen it a bunch of time with guys such as Rod Marinelli and Mike Tice.

Here is the odds on 49ers

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/49ers/2016/01/08/22965/

Last year’s odds-on favorite to become the 49ers coach was Jim Tomsula, and he did. A year later, the 49ers are hunting for Tomsula’s successor.

So far, they’ve interviewed or tried to set up meetings with Chip Kelly (former Oregon, Philadelphia Eagles coach), Anthony Lynn (Bills assistant head coach), Mike Shanahan (former 49ers offensive coordinator, coach of three NFL teams), Dirk Koetter (Buccaneers offensive coordinator) and John DeFilippo (Browns offensive coordinator).

Let’s again set the odds on who’ll be the 49ers next coach:

Good for Pat. Mike Rumph who was the old HC there took a job with the Canes as D back coach.

Haven't heard McDermott's name linked to the job at all. Is he not interested, are we crazy enough to not be interested, or is there mutual disinterest?

If we're going to hire a coordinator he's the guy, if you don't have a legitimate top tier QB, defense is your only way to a championship.

I agree. Despite what I said earlier I think he has as much chance of ending up a quality head coach as just about any of these guys. It's all a huge projection with not nearly enough data points to make you feel confident. The evidence in Campbell's corner is just too thin to put stock in. Is the locker room so fouled up that no one could have motivated them? Or is he maybe not quite the motivator he thinks he is?

That is the problem w/ "motivators" is eventually the shtick gets old unless you are dealing w/ a bunch of knuckle dragging peabrains.

No word on whether Dan Campbell bench pressed Stephen Ross during his interview.

Gotta think the Dolphins will make someone an offer early next week -- Monday or Tuesday. Hue Jackson will make eight interviews.

Agreed. Though there are a lot of ways to motivate and there's always a lot of roster turnover. The guys you're gonna keep around for years are hopefully the types who don't really need motivation in the first place.

Can't play it at work but the article title says it all. I assume that Florio says Shanny and Tannembaum couldn't coexist?

i think thats the safe assumption. Sadly we get the worse choice in the equation. Shannahan is far better at his job than Tannenbaum is at his
