90% of the posters on this board want Ireland fired. Please factually tell us why.

To start I will rebuttal as much as I can that I know. Others please chime in if you are able to add to the discussion in a positive way. I am hoping to avoid and ignore posts where people offer no additional information or want to sling mudd. Of course I am asking for factual information. Stuff you can prove. Not stuff you believe because it fits an agenda.:hclap:

I will start:

Ireland has been here for 6 yrs

1. Under Parcells 11-5 playoffs lost first round
2. Under Parcells 7-9
3 Sparano enters picture, new shemes, complete coaching change(sort of, Parcells still here) 7-9
4 Sparano personal adjustments 6-10, Sparano fired
5. Philbin enters picture, new schemes, complete coaching change 7-9
6. Philbin personal adjustments 8-8 TBD

Ireland has never had more then 1 season building any scheme implemented since he was Hired

I am not interested in starting another Ireland bashing thread as all of them on this board seem to be.

I am trying to elicit honest factual information about the time Jeff Ireland has been here.

Please enlighten

quite Simple

He has been Gm for six years. The last 5 years we have not had a winning season.
You are quite trying to overthink this.
His job is to put a winning product on field scheme after scheme and he hasn't don't it.
We can make excuses for years but the facts are he is not getting the job done and he is the one constant.
I mean if we fire Sherman who many say has done a poor job then you will have an excuse next year why he should not be fired.
Then we keep him and the next year they fire Coyle.
Every team will have change.
No team keeps the same staff and same players every year.
if we were good we would lose staff to other teams, when u are bad u fire staff.

I just don't get why people act like Ireland is being unfairly bashed. even his biggest supporters said we need to have a winning record or make playoffs for him to keep his job this year and now some people want to find new excuses to make.

Look at this years draft and you'll see why. Huge selling point on him staying was the amount of money and picks he had. A 1 game improvement is unacceptable.

1. Horrible drafts....how many guys that Ireland has drafted have made any difference to this team??? Look at the guys Ireland has passed on. Given away picks, players for nothing (Marshall, etc.).

2. The Dolphin's team record is IRRELEVANT to Ireland...he is NOT a coach. He is in charge of our draft and player moves. Who cares about the team record while he has been here? It's apples and oranges.

That is all.

That's not a good record.

Jake Long, Jake Grove, Justin Smiley, John Jerry, Dallas Thomas, Jon Martin, Tyson Clabo, Bryant McKinnie, Richie Incognito. Five years spent investing either good draft picks or significant amounts of money in offensive linemen who aren't any good. None of them are good. Other NFL executives have said that our offensive line is "expansion level."

Legedu Naanee, Anthony Armstrong, Jabar Gaffney, Marlon Moore, Armon Binns. In 2012, the team rotated that cast of characters as the starting boundary wide receiver opposite Brian Hartline. Jeff Ireland kept bringing them in, the coaching staff kept giving them a shot, and they kept being total garbage.

Koa Misi, Philip Wheeler, Dannell Ellerbe. All signed to big money contracts in 2013. All part of the reason that our run defense took a nosedive and we got torched by screen passes all season.

Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas. The running backs we decided to enter the season with. They aren't good runners, they aren't good receivers, and they aren't good pass blockers. Jeff Ireland traded up for these guys.

Reshad Jones got a huge contract this offseason. He's a bad football player. Why did we throw money at him again?

We drafted a kicker because our previous kicker was struggling to get touchbacks, struggling on long kicks, and had missed a couple of critical field goals. We drafted a kicker who struggles to get touchbacks, struggles on long kicks, and has missed a couple of critical field goals.

He traded for Brandon Marshall -- a guy who was known to have MAJOR personality issues -- and then traded away for less than we paid for him. Because of those same personality issues.

Our 2013 draft class did nothing for our football team. Nothing. We had picks and money entering the 2013 offseason and we drafted the 2013 draft class that contributed the least of any class in the entire league in its rookie season. We signed a good wide receiver, but we overpaid for his services. We extended a safety who had one good statistical season to a HUGE contract and then changed up his responsibilities, and he was terrible. We signed two new linebackers to big money deals and they are ****ING TERRIBLE.

Do you feel I need to continue? He created several new holes in our football team this season. Anthony Fasano signed elsewhere for peanuts. Why the **** did we draft Dion Sims? He doesn't contribute as much as a receiver and doesn't block as well. We let Jake Long walk and our backup plan was a struggling headcase and a guy who was going to RETIRE if we didn't offer him 5 million dollars to come back for one last ride. We let Reggie Bush, our best touchdown producer, walk for a guy with a career YPC of 3.6 and an unproven player who can't pick up his blocking assignments.

Jeff Ireland sometimes spots good bargain talent -- I certainly wouldn't argue against that point. However, Jeff Ireland has no clue how to construct a functioning NFL roster and is now creating holes that he fails to fill.

I though Ireland took too much heat for past drafts and free agent signings, but the 2013 draft and free agent signings were just terrible imo. We had so many draft picks, and even traded Bess on draft day for more picks, and we couldn't come away with one single starter or solid contributor. This was the worst draft he has had imo.

Aside from the draft, he prematurely extended Reshad Jones, downgraded our LB corps, disregarded the long-term sustainability of the LT/RT positions, and completely ignored the RB position. We now know that Brandon Gibson was recruited by Philbin, and I think its safe to say that only one or two positions was upgraded this offseason by Ireland, and that is because of Grimes and Wallace. One offseason with tons of picks and tons of cap space, and all we get is one or two positional upgrades. That's unacceptable. The only reason we won 8 games was pure coaching.

We now know that Brandon Gibson was recruited by Philbin,

How do you know this? Can you provide a source, please? Because that's interesting, and if true, really even more damning of Jeff.

90% want Ireland fired? I don't think so! About 10% have been wanting him fired. The rest either jumped on the band wagon today, or are simply not posting in the forum.

We have been stating our case for 3 years now, so if you don't know what it is...you're simply ignoring that fact...or are ignorant.

38 post since 2009 I think the op might be Jeff Ireland or Mrs. Ireland! Several of those post today all aggressively defending Jeff Ireland!

IMO, we lack a stadium with home field impact, and we lack special people atop the organization. Fix those aspects and everything else naturally falls in place.

I'd like to find a general manager who can confidently step behind a microphone, articulately state a plan of action minus secrecy or paranoia, and then set out to do it, block by intelligent block.

With only 32 spots, you have to aspire higher than Jeff Ireland. This season he took away one of the joys of following a professional team...tracking the rookies game by game. By midseason I had forgotten their names. In recent weeks it never occurred to me that we actually drafted anyone last spring.

I only skimmed the op and thread but tell me I didn't see he's only had one year?
