Adam Scheft: Why Does He Say We Have Little Talent?

Why do you care about what some idiotic reporter says about our team?

Well unfortunately not being in camp myself, I need to rely on those who cover the team. I'd also like to hear it from an "independent", not someone associated with the team who may be a bit biased.

I just caught Adams comments too...maybe he`s saying we have no talent, as in our O-line and secondary have no talent. He wouldn`t be too far off on those assesments. We haven`t exactly looked like world beaters in our first two preseason games.

talent is in part utilization of same, and I for one am looking forward to watching this coaching staff utilize our talent, even though I consider this (dare I say it) something of a rebuilding year-It's about time we had a rebuilding year-even at our worst in recent memory last year we mortgaged the future (Feeley, Gordon, even dumping Ogunleye) to try to have a shot-give this team a chance to disprove all the biased media douchebags out there

let me list your tallent:

Chambers
McMichael
McDougle
J. Taylor
K. Carter
Z. Thomas
Madison (but hes not as good as many fins think)
R. Williams (ill add him to the list, but we dont know how he will do)
R. Browm.

Adam Shefner said that tonight???????? If he did his credibilty went down the tubes becuase 3 weeks ago he was saying and I quote him, after hanging out at the Dolphins facilty, "Nick Saban runs the most organized pratices I've ever seen and I guarentee that the Dolphins will win at least 9 games this season." Then he went on to talk about some of the key players on the team as reasons why. If he said we have no talent tonight he changed his mind 180 degrees. I hate when reporters do that and I like him so I hope it's not true. I'll have to watch Total Access tonight.

I heard his comments yesterday I think he simply meant when Ronnie was being drafted there was not a lot of talent on this team as far as HB's went.

Of course that has changed and that is why after spending some time down here during their training camp he said Saban will turn this around quicker than most ppl think.

If the young corners don't come through (Poole, Daniels, Howard) this D could be pretty pathetic very quick. The best LB's we have are getting old, the DL is made up of a lot of guys coming to the end of their careers. I have faith that Saban will address the defense in the next draft (and QB of course!). Hopefully Roth and Crowder will turn out to be what we all hope they will.

I don't understand it. Adam Schefter was interviewed by Rich Eisen on the Football Network and comented on the Ronnie Brown signing. He said that it is good that he is in camp since the Dolphins have very little talent. I completely disagree. On the offensive side of the ball we have Ricky & now Ronnie Brown to complement Sammie Morris and Lamar Gordon, certainly above average. WR's Chris Chambers (A super stud ready to bust out), Marty Booker, David Boston & others, not too shabby in my opinion. TE McMichael is certainly one of the top tight ends in the league. QB's are average, until proven otherwise, but not terrible and the OL is a work in progress with some recent additions which should help.

The D is centered around Zach, Taylor & Madison with some good solid lineman like Zgonina and others coming over from other teams during the offseason. Also the kid Travis Daniels looks like he has tremendous potential and Matt Roth will be good. I didn't even mention Crowder.

The special teams include Mare & Turk, two of the best.

So if you would please enlighten me on Schefter's comment because I don't see it. Sure there are more talented teams out there but I believe that our nucleus is pretty darn good.:shark:

Whoa, now, he's off by saying we have very little talent, but you're leaning a little too hard the other way.

With Ronnie and Ricky, should be talented (although unproven) backfield. Lamar Gordon and Sammie Morris don't scare anyone.

The strength of our team should be our recieving corps, including TE.
Now the bad news. We'll be starting a backup qb no matter who wins the job. With all the progress and additions on the o-line, remember they have a long way to go just to be mediocre.
The defense is a question mark. Definitely weaker in secondary than we were last year. Our defensive stars have more and more mileage on them, the rookies are rookies, and the FA vets have even more mileage! Should be stronger on the D-line than last year, but we've lost Bowens, Chester, Greenwood(solid role-player) and Surtain (all-pro CB). Can you really say we've improved on defense? A defense, by the way, that's been quietly diminishing over the past couple years.
Mare's good, but not the elite automatic kicker he used to be. Turk is a reliable punter.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not doom and gloom. I think we'll be a lot better this year just on coaching alone. But let's not fool ourselves about our talent level. Nick still has some pieces to collect before he fixes the trainwreck caused by the bozos.

he like most sports journalists out there just hate the dolphins.

what do you expect after going 4 and 12. We know the talent is there they just have to show it this year and prove everyone wrong.

OT - Actually, it's a phrase deriving from a legal situation in which there is case precedent upon identical facts with the identical issue. "Case on point" or "case in point" would be appropriate useage. In legalese, it's also known as a "case on all fours".
