Adam Schefter: Mentions Dolphins as a possible landing spot for David Garrard

He would beat out Henne but isnt he sick or something?

No he wouldn't. He can't beat out a rookie who hasn't looked like anything special (so far) to me. I'd take Henne over either of them going in to this season.

You are delusional if you think Garrard would step in and take the starting job immediately.

Its kinda too late for anyone to step in and be a starter right now. But apparently the staff is prepared to move on immediately if in case GOD forbid henne stinks it up because he has never done that before.

haha, Garrard would quickly send Henne to the bench...Garrard has actually posted decent QB numbers in this league, unlike Chad.

You are right about one thing....'posted', as in past tense. He has reached his ceiling and is probably on the decline.

based off offense familiarity not really skills.

Apparently every quarterback in the league that is rumored to be sent packing is the savior of the Dolphins and will beat out Henne. Stop grasping at straws....short of PManning, Brady, or Rivers being thrown in to a miracle trade (obviously not going to happen)...Henne is our starter. Please just deal with it and let it go. Just pull for the guy and support the team and everyone stop naming everyone that would be better. We know, but we don't have the better qb.....We have Henne!

Who aren't we a possible landing spot for? Seriously every week we are connected to someone else

You know it's a pretty sad state in Dolphins land (especially in the media's eyes) when every player that gets released, or is rumored to be released or traded is linked to the Dolphins.

I always liked Garrard - and at one point was envious of Jacksonville thinking he was better than his team. But things change quickly - in one season Henne went from the presumptive up and coming second best QB in the division, McNabb went from merely overrated to over the hill and Jason Campbell went from undervalued to respected.. long way of saying "caveat emptor" (buyer beware). Especially if it means a long term commitment considering Jacksonville is so sure a kid who had plenty of ??? coming out of college is so much better than him to make him expendable. When it comes to signing other team's discards..... we have not had any success with QB retread washouts who scored under 20 on the Wonderlic and he's right down there with McNabb at 14. Seems when these guys, like Dullpecker, lose their physicality, and must rely on the mental game, it's a fast spiral downward. Still and all he's a gamer, has been better than his team in general.. so if it doesn't cost much of a financial commitment, why not let him compete with Henne and Moore?

I had Gabbert has my #1 quarterback in the draft, but the Jags would be stupid to start him right away. The guy needs to sit a year and work on his footwork and deep accuracy, in my view. If he can get those things out, he has Aaron Rodgers-like potential. But all you'll do putting him out there right away is get his *** beaten up and your team demoralized.

The Jags really are in a perfect spot, and Gene Smith is a smart GM so I doubt he ****s it up. You have a respected veteran, a guy who's a good teammate and mentor, but who all the same is a competitor and knows there's a young first round pick in his rear view mirror. What does that often add up to? A career year for the veteran. Everyone plays better when they're challenged. Drew Brees caught on fire after Phillip Rivers was drafted. Joe Montana had a resurgence when Steve Young was traded to the 49ers. David Garrard doesn't have the talent of a Brees or Montana but I think he's due to have his own version of that same phenomenon.

Denver wanted too much for Orton. Orton record as an started is horrible. I think Henne has a better overall record. Garrad is a good qb who has won playoff games. I don't know ahy people think Matt Moore is all that.

Why stop there fellas? Maybe we can bring back Daunte Culpooper?????

This is getting ridiculous. The FO can kiss my azz for being too cheap to get us a real franchise QB.

I think he went to the ProBowl either last year or year before. He doesn't know our system but could be a big upgrade.
