AFC EAST Offseason Grades by Scouts Inc.- Phins get the Worst Grade - " C- "

looks like the guy from rhode island is gonna be off finheaven for a while after this season....ha ha ha...that was a bad bet my friend...

NOPE - just sit back and watch Chad Johnson this year!!!!
I'm telling you - He still got it!!!!!

I know you said youn waa down on him and you have good reason, but the difference between NE and Miami is the QB will in Miami (Garrared) will believe in him and ride with him!!!!

Just watch

Its a bet!!!
Save this post and when you lose I dont want to see your name on this board until 2014!!!!!

Brandon Marshall is 28 and he's coming off of a 1200 yard season with nothing but mediocrity throwing to him. He's going back to play with a very good quarterback who he has great chemistry with. In two years with Jay Cutler, Marshall caught 206 passes for 2590 yards and 13 touchdowns. Cutler forcefeeds Marshall the ball, he's going to completely be the focal point of that passing game, and if both Cutler and Marshall stay healthy Marshall is a shoe in for 90 grabs 1200 yards and 6 TDs.

Chad Ochocinco is 34 years old, and he's coming off of a 15 catch season where he played with a top 3 QB in the NFL. The Pats have great tight ends and a great slot receiver, but they needed an outside threat and Ochocinco failed miserably in that position where he had little to no competition... I'm not just going to completely ignore that last year happened. How do you explain that complete lack of production in such a great situation?

Look, I'm rooting for Ocho, but at his age (and with his miserable QB situation) there's no way he can compete with what Marshall and Cutler can do if they're healthy. I see 60 catches, 800 yards, and 4 TDs as the BEST case scenario for Ocho and you can probably double those numbers as the best case for Marshall with Cutler.

You have great points.
BUT - Cutler Wont be healthy - their o-line has not gotten any better. Brandon is going to draw double coverage casue they have no other threat worthy of double coverage and Forte may hold out for a good while to get his contract. These are things that you need to consider.

In Miami Chad will be the #1 option as far as throwing goes. Garrarad is going to force feed him and he is going to haev a spectacular year. Add the fact that he is being questioned, Chad has a huge ego and he is back home (he is gonna want to show his AZZ)
Just watch!

Fair question, but I'll answer it with another question. Who did they lose? Burress and Leonhard? Burress was finished and is still looking for a job. Leonhards last two seasons ended on the IR. Leonhard was replaced by Bell and Landry. Burress was replaced by the speedy Chaz and Hill. Jets lost LT, but LT lost his touch anyways. I can't remember any other significant loss. The team is mainly intact, except they added rookies that can address their last years weaknesses in a pass rusher and a WR that can stretch the field in Hill.

So basically they added nothing that's guaranteed to make them better, just a few possible players that could be an upgrade. My big thing is not that I think Miami had a better off-season then the Jets (That is a matter of opinion), my thing is that the Jets did not have better off-season then the Dolphins.

The Jets lost Burress, that will hurt red-zone offense, they lost Leonhard, the leadership he brought to the middle of your secondary will be missed, you lost LT, even with him no longer being the elite runner he used to be, he was still a great guy to have for your QB coming out of the backfield as at the very least, a safety net (He was and still is one of the best pass-catching RBs).

Personally, I think the Bills deserve the top mark, and then bunch up the Pats, Jets, and Dolphins, because not one did anything better then the other or worse, aside from the draft, which history has shown, no matter where players are taken or how good they are thought to be, it's still not a gimme that they will as good or as bad as orininally thought.

Noted. However, please define the injuries statement. Does both players need to play 16 games each, or is there some flexibility?

Personally I feel like Marshall will have a better year than Ocho whether it's Cutler or Jason Campbell throwing him the ball, but if I'm risking a year off the board I'm gonna need some paramaters set up. If Marshall misses more than 3 games due to injury/suspension or if both Cutler AND Campbell are hurt (like what happened to the Texans top 2 QBs last year) for more than 3 games the deal should be voided.
I'm thinking that Marshall will have a huge year partly based on his relationship with Cutler, and I know that Campbell is at least a capable QB, but if both of those guys are out I can't rely on a 3rd stringer to get Marshall the ball. Although honestly, I think that Marshall can probably outperform Ocho in his sleep at this point.

Actually insomnia is from Long Island (Wrong island), but I agree it is a bad bet.

NUB!!! Also make sure that if one of them does something to get suspended or injured outside of football (You know who I think that will be) if that will also count.

Thats Fair
If both Miami Qb's go out - deal is voided.
In addition should Chad or B March miss more then 4 games bet voided.

Wow, pretty cool, the bet is actually happening. Good Luck Big_Fish, there will be a lot of things going against Chad, but I think it's very possible, especially of Marshall starts dropping passes early or starts having temper tantrums if he does not see the ball enough.

Care to explain?

The Jets needed a cover safety (ie, free safety). They signed two FA whom, on their best days (which may behind one because of injury and the other because of age), were NOT very good in pass coverage. In other words, the Jets' weakness at safety remains. They remain especially vulnerable to the big, fast TEs that are becoming popular.

The Jets need to stretch the field. The two WRs they added, Schilens and Hill, might work out or they might NOT. One has done nothing because of injury and the other one is a rookie project. Although they're fast, they've got to prove that they can get open and make catches downfield before NFL DBs take them seriously.

The Jets need to improve their OL. They have replaced two top OLers at key positions, LG and RT, with two guys who are essentially backup quality. Vlad Ducasse has been disappointing. This particular draft had lots of OL talent of various quality and skill levels, so finding some shouldn't have been so hard for the Jets, but they only managed to find an OG in the 6th. Pitt probably snagged a likely perennial Pro Bowl RG in the first, the Fins grabbed a RT in the second or third, the Bills grabbed 3 OLers (a LT in the 2nd, another OT in the 5th, and a C/G in the 6th).

The Jets don't really have the personnel to be the run-first, ground and pound team they want to be. They don't have a dominant OL like they did in 2009. They don't have a good OL and a good starting RB like they did in 2010. Shonn Greene is a mediocre RB who doesn't have a lot of speed, break tackles, make guys miss, change directions/cut back very well or have particularly good vision. He's mediocre, especially as the starter. Oh, yeah, the Jets don't have a traditional blocking TE, something that's essential for a successful run-first team, especially one with a RT named Wayne Hunter as its starter.

It's nice that the Jets added a pass rusher and a LBer and some late round safeties, but their defense was already much better than offense. They did very little to get Sanchez better protection and targets, and then undermined him further by bringing in Tebow.

Hey we need some excitment around this time of the year....LOL
Chad better do what I expect him to do......I'm about to tweet him right now!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for the season!!!!!

Insomnia411 - Big Up's to you for even making such a bet!!!!!!!

One of the most unfair bets Ive ever seen. Big Fish should get some odds!

On paper it looks like Cutler to Marshall is the favorite, but if Garrard is back from his back problem he can be a far more contestant QB then Cutler, and even though Chad will never be an overpowering beast like Marshall, Chad also can be a more contestant receiver and fully capable of putting up more yards per catch...even at his more advanced age.

Don't let the time in Pats country tell you what type of receiver Chad is, because that would be a big mistake. This bet is not a gimme, and will be very interesting.
