An Excellent Article that Gives Insight Into Tanneyhills Troubles and D's Problems

The blitz was on in case you missed that too. No time to check down to Miller.

Miller looks like he should have been the hot read there. That's one that's on the QB. I think the only way you excuse the QB there is if Miller was supposed to stay in to block and ****ed up his assignment.

Miller recognized the blitz, and his head was turned immediately. Miller was ready for the ball.

Before the snap, an elite QB knows where the defenders are, and depending on who blitzes, where the gaps will appear in the coverage.

Tannehill just panicked.

Guys too early to pull him. 5 new on the online a new offender and coordinator. Really what are we expecting...I we all were so stooked after the pats even though he did not pkay real we'll. recently becoming aware that we have the highest paid receiver corp in the NFL tells me it ain't all Tanny. He must improve his accuracy and stop straining down his receivers. He seems to be doing it more than last year. The 58 sacks may have been too much. It is a quarterback league we are not getting the play at that position! Play out the year if we crash and burn we should cut bate but if the light goes on? Who know's let's go Ryan step it up! The raiders are perfect let's light them up.

The thing is...shouldn't Miller have blocked the guy?

No way. If Tannehill makes the right throw to Miller, it's a huge gain. There simply aren't enough defenders in coverage on that side of the field.

Put it this way, if he recognizes where the blitz is coming from then he would know he had Miller wide open. He could flow slightly to the left a couple steps then float that pass over the top to Miller. I've seen the Patriots run that all of the time with Vereen to make defenses pay for blitzing. Instead Tannehill relied on threading the needle to his comfort blanket.

Yes, thanks, I edited my post.

Elite QBs see who blitzes, and recognize the gaps that will thus exist in the coverage.

Given the blitz from the right side, there simply aren't enough defenders on that side of the field to cover the 3 Miami receivers.

Elite QBs - Marino, Brady, Peyton - all do that, and punish teams for blitzing.

Elite posters know Moreno was not on the field for this game. Even idiots know that. And then there's those who don't.

That's what we don't know but the Tannehill bashers have already formed their expert opinions. They see the play days later from a birds eye view have no idea what the assignments were but it's Tannehill's fault.

thats Miller #26, Knowshon is hurt. Hartline was the first read he knew the blitz was coming

Yeah the window is there to hit that slant that may have been the one where the ball went thru hartline hands...one of them it did...I saw that play and didn't knock tannehill for the decision now had smith been playing where it was taken away and he didn't check to miller I would have...can't knock him for that one though

That's also against inside blitz tanny knows ball must come out quick...but he could have worked to miller before contact had the db coverage taken the slant

Leave it to FH to bash Tannehill for throwing a perfect pass that, if not dropped, would have resulted in a first down. And given Miller's past, I'm not even convinced that he didnt blow his assignment on this play, and should have stayed in to block that LB, which would further explain why Tannehill didn't look for him. Not to mention that only last week Miller dropped a perfectly placed pass on a similar 3rd down play.

Wow... Jenkins overran that Davis td...he should have been up in that hole...poor play by Jenkins there...trusnick takes false steps all over the place...this lb core is very very susceptible to misdirection...reverses against our hard pursuit should be in every Teams gameplan

The author knock the qb for looking at clay on that play...I mean really what else is he suppose to do no look the throw...that's too much...that balls also going right by that drop lb and into open space if Poe doesn't get a hand on it...why aren't our lineman chopping hands down any ways and putting their helmet in guys when they jump to get them not to expose their ribs so much...or cutting guys on 3 step drops etc

Dlinemen once they find out they can't get there are all being taught get a hand in the air...well make them pay for it when they do they won't be so keen about it...

I freaking hate auto correct on a I pad...makes a 20 second typing a freaking 2 minuter fixing their inserts

might as well play tripp and mccain

These tannehill supporters don't understand this.

Tannehill should have seen this coming. Easy read. Pathetic miss

Sure he could have gone to Miller but he got the ball out and made a well placed throw that hits Hartline in stride. If he catches it he has as much room as Miller.

I'm pissed at the QB play as well but that's nitpicking.

leave it to the tannehill haters to make up something to bash him about. I support Tannehill but I will admit his play HAS to get better. if we lose to the raiders and tannehill has a bad game. I have to endorse a switch of QBs

Ha ha god help you boss Matt Moore plays and I get to breaking down his tape on a snap by snap basis...if you think going to the quick slant was the wrong decision..
