It seems that the secondary is getting even worse. I just dont know how its going to play throughout the season. If Daniels inury is worse than expected we will have some problems.

Patience grasshopper. You forget we have a ton of youth and a very complex defense. Also, guys like JA & Hill can play corner if they must. Bell and Tillman are capable of being starting safeties. We have more depth than it would seem.

:fire:
I am sick and tired of all these doom and gloom threads concerning our secondary. Please wait until the season to see where we are at. We, as fans, cannot do anything about the injuries or who we bring in.Let the coaches do their job. All this negativity is getting me angry. There I have finished venting.

Go Dolphins!!!

Im worried about our Nickle and Dime packages. At least Reggie Howard still isn't on this team.

I'm not even going to start to worry about the team's results until like week 4 of the regular season. If we aren't 2-2 by then, with signs of kicking it into gear, then I will be worried.

I just hope game one of the preseason is not an indication of how our secondary will operate. A few injuries you can overcome but if half the secondary is banged up this is not good. :shakeno:

Two answeres to that question.

#1) it's pre-season, nobody is gone for the year yet, and as a dolphins fan that is outstanding news to me...

#2) the secondary is a unit and the gameplan they execute is far more important than individual talent, (in most situations). We don't have a "stand out" player in our secondary, we have many peices to a complex puzzle known as saban's system.

Relax, Saban is a secondary specialist, it's what he does. Of all the places on the team I'm worried about, our secondary is near the bottom of my list.

I can't remember when any pre-season game especially the first one has ever been an indication of anything.:shakeno:

The secondary was not a bright spot for this team last year. We got rid of Howard but have we upgraded at all since he left? Yes, with Allen and Allen, but if guys get hurt and we have no depth this COULD be a big concern. I am taking a wait-and-see attitude. I am not crying that the sky is falling like Chicken Little though.

This has to be the stupidest post ive ever seen! IF your scared after one PRESEASON game then you have absolutely no idea what football is all about. The dolphins have alot of new guys especiallly in the secondary and they are very young. Just give them some time to learn and gel in the PRESEASON and they will be just fine and injuries were fine with anything this year can't be as bad as the last 2 seasons.

take it easy dude.....hes not saying we're doomed for the rest of the season he's just saying we're going through a little bit of a rough slide with the injuries right now...and he's right.

Daniels suffered an ankle sprain that falls in between a grade 2 and grade 3 sprain. He is no longer on crutches which is good. My guess will be he'll miss the next 2 preseason games, maybe all 3. But I think his chances of being ready for the season opener are pretty good. The good news is he already knows the defense inside and out and ABSOLUTE WORSE case scenario is he misses the first 3-4 regular season games. On the plus side though. Jason Allen is now learning to play CB, and i'm pretty ok with the depth we have at safety. So as long as Will Allen and Andre Goodman can stay healthy, I really don't think we have THAT much to worry about, i.e., things could be ALOT worse.
