Keep the helmet on the Dolphin, we are the only team that has this, it's like Pittsburgh Penguin fans asking that they take the hockey skates and hockey stick out of the penguin logo...man, that is just sac religious if you ask me. Don't mess with the logo....go with a blue or aqua helmet... that would be Niiiiiiccccceeeeeeee!

How about this? Less cartoony, old school colors, no helmet.

By the way...it wasn't the logo that made the Dolphins winners all those years...it was a man named Don Shula.

Of that list, only 5 feature anthropormorphic animals USING the sporting equipment... That is my main gripe, not that there is a sports symbol in the logo itself, but that the animal is USING the equipment like a cartoon character.

Nice job back tracking.

But I have to agree with Phantastic here. Keeping the helmet keeps us original (even though the Raiders guy has a helmet on), as do our colors. Gladsadmad tweaked it just right. There is no reason to go the route New England, Denver or Tampa Bay took with their logos.

I aint backtracking crap... That is exactly what I meant. Obviously sports equipment on a human (like the raiders) or by itself (like most NBA logos) won't look silly. It only looks silly when you got an animal using it.

By going with a computerized "updated" graphic, you're just creating yet another bland, faceless logo, devoid of soul and individuality. It's like when the people who run your local favorite dive bar get a wild hair up their asses and decide that they're going to "renovate" the place, ultimately killing the bar's soul in the process.

Grab some soul. Bring back the throwbacks. Keep the helmet.

Actually you are. Reread your original statement, you stated that sports teams have largely quit using sports equipment in their logos. You amended, back tracked, your original statement so that it only included animals.

And to be honest could, you imagine how ridiculous teams would look if their logos were more realistic? Just think how dumb that would look if a picture of a real dolphin in front of the sun on the side of our helmet. It would be nothing but a silhouette of a dolphin.

Going to look like they are all wearing neck rolls!!! Such a dissapointment, at this point I'm freaking fed up with NIKE. First they remove the Dazzle mesh that made our aqua and white pop like our helmet glitter. Now this!!!! Please NIKE what ever your reps are doing its not freaking cute at all! God Reebok you cheap mothas! Why couldn't you outbid nike for the spot at NFL unis again!!!!!

I might not have been clear in that quote, but I have consistently stated that anthropormorphic animals wearing sports equipment in logos is a thing of the past. Almost every single franchise that had one, phased it out... The only ones that remain that I can think of off the top of my head are the Pittsburgh Penguins. The raptors recently got rid of theirs, as did the ducks.

The current logo has the soul of brain damaged porpoise. If anything, bring back the old logo. This current one needs to go.
