Why do people keep insisting that no one wore throwback jerseys on Thanksgiving last year? Look at the picture on this page:

Those arent throwbacks, they are just alt unis they tend to wear on T-day, since the Cowgirls really dont have throwbacks.. But normally, BOTH teams would wear throwbacks..

Detroit wore their hideous Black unis..

Did you read the description of the merchandise? They are called throwbacks. How do you get from that that they aren't throwbacks??

Because the Cowboys have NEVER used those uniforms as their REGULAR uniforms at any point in their history.. In fact, I believe they have had the same uniforms since their inception..

I was just going off of what I had heard cowboy fans say in the past about the so called "Big Star" uniform.. Perhaps that was another uniform though? Didnt they used to use one on T-day with a huge star on the shoulder? That was the one I was thinking of... But I didnt know they had used those shown as a regular jersey in the beginning of their franchise.

The Cowboys had the "big star" as one of their original uniforms, it was a long-sleeve.

Hey man, no worries.

I think the uniform you are thinking of is one they broke out for Thanksgiving in 1994. They won the game, but then shelved the uniforms. However, they lost their next game wearing their normal white uniforms, so they switched to the alternates for the rest of their games. Interestingly enough, the next year they made navy versions of the alternates (very similar to the ones the Cowboys have worn on Thanksgiving the past few years, with the major difference being that the 1995 navy uniforms had silver helmets and pants, while the throwback helmets and pants are white), but they went back to their regular whites. Then in 1996 they settled on their current white and navy jerseys, only to bring out the throwbacks starting on Thanksgiving of.....I think 2001.

Those are the ones with silver helmets and pants. They wore those in 2001 and 2002 on Thanksgiving also. Then, in 2004 and 2005 they wore the actual throwbacks (with white helmets and pants) on Thanksgiving.
