Are you ok with Martin returning to the team?

If Martin returns? When AND what kinda shape would he be in? Is he an asset or a liability on the o-line if or when he does return? Does Sherman the offensive coordinator return or further more Jim Turner the o-line coach return for next season?
We need better offensive line play across the board. Pouncey is a keeper regardless of him being a 1st round pick...everyone else is a liability. Nice to see us get Miller over a 100yds rushing against a very good Bengals defense without Martin and Incognito hurt early in the game. Interesting to see how things go on from here on and off the field.

You can think that. But I choose NOT to believe this was a isolated quiet case of hazing. I think those black players knew full well what was being said and done. And I choose to believe most thought the same of Martin.

I coach a HS lax team that is mostly black. I am 99% sure they would not put up with any white kid using a slur. Based on past experience, I think the captains would ask for him to be removed from the team no matter how good the kid is. I've seen it happen when a kid was getting high before games, and that doesn't have nearly the impact on the guys.

We had some cracker use the n word during summer games (off season) and a 260lb all muscle attackman (being recruited for D1 football) warned him, then knocked his butt out with 1 punch -- gloves to helmet.

I think there would be a ton of resentment, and I bet Riley Cooper could testify to that.

No. I'd be more than dissapointed if I saw him in a Dolphin uniform ever again. Dude can't play

Everybody deserves a second chance. Icognito got his with the Fins when he left the Rams. So why be against Martin getting another shot in the NFL? Yes, he isn't a good tackle, but why not let him try out as a guard next year if he's willing? He *may* have the talent to play as a guard. If he doesn't pan out, then we let him walk.

This is just speculation It won't be shocked if he doesn't come back.

The way he's handled this is pretty much destroying the football team. Unless Joe Philbin knew about this stuff and simply ignored it, then I don't know that guys in that locker room would want anything to do with him.

And as I said, I don't think he cares. I think he is getting out and staying out, and now looking to get as much cash via legal means as possible.

Something like that happened when I played in high school. One of our black defensive lineman who called an olineman we played with a stupid a$$ cracker when the onlineman took him to the ground after the whistle. The DT took off his helmet and our Tackle picked him up, slammed him down and knocked him out cold. The team got over it. Things happen. Ignorant kids say stupid things. Most of the time the team handles it and you move on. We went the rest of the season without incident. The way we saw it they both had it coming to them

I'm with you on what you said. I'm just against permanently slamming the door in his face *if* he gets help and *wants* to come back. Also, there's players who have returned to play after doing something destructive to unity of their squad. Ricky Williams and Riley Cooper come to mind.

I am offended by the use of the word cracker.

The problem is that given the way the NFL works there's a chance 90% of the players/coaches/personnel guys will blame Jon Martin for the way he's handled this situation. Martin's team has to know this and understand that his NFL career is probably over. He'll always be remembered for this scandal, instead of his play on the field.

I'm curious to see how the league moves forward from this, cause let's be honest, this isn't an isolated issue. This is probably something that happens in other teams as well. Martin opened a Pandora's box and now the NFL will have to do something about its so called "culture". Hell, it probably goes beyond the NFL itself. But will there be serious changes in this league? We'll see. All I know is Jonathan Martin has probably played his last down as an NFL player. And maybe he's okay with that.

I hope JM comes back a rejuvenated, liberated, and better player. I doubt it though.

I also hope that this team rallies around themselves in an "us against the world" show of resolve. I doubt it though.

Wasn't he decent at RT last year?

Anyways, Ricky got a 2nd chance after I burned his jersey - Why not.

Miami would need to find a way to ditch Martin without looking like they're "neglecting a mistreated player's needs."
If the coaches and FO can prove they never heard or saw any of this going on, and were not notified, then Maybe they can come clean of this, and ditch Martin + Cog, and it will blow over in due time.

I read someone's post here that there's some supposedly upheld law that states an employee can sue a company for a harassing environment Even If they uphold non-harassing policies, but have knowingly hired someone with a history of harassment offenses (Cog).
If Martin tries that route, Fins (mostly Ireland) are gonna be Doomed, image-wise. This is truly becoming a mess.

Cant wait for that Pouncey investigation :)

Mental issues are a non-football illness. They = no pay. Later, this bullying thing comes out. Bullying would be football related = paid.

No I don't want him on this team.

These texts and voicemails took place 6 months ago. They're coming out now? He threw down his food in a tantrum for an incident he took part in himself just the week before? Reports are surfacing that Martin and Incongito have hung out on occasion out side of football since the voicemail and now there is a perceived threat?

I don't want either player near this team. But Richie is an EASY target. I doubt he was alone in the teasing.

He sucked anyway but I think his Harvard educated lawyer parents have a lot to do with this. Since he showed them first. Do you think some poor inner city kid would have parents smart and rich enough to take on the giant NFL? Don't think so.

No Martin doesn't want to play football, but his family is certainly going to ensure he makes his NFL money.

I can't imagine having Martin return would help the team unite...unless...Richie was a bully all around, not only to Martin.
In that case, the team may be glad Martin blew the whistle on Richie's antics.

Doubt that's probably the case overall, but just throwing that out there.
