512 ive been a fins fan since 1981 and how on earth and i being arrogant or telling someone how to be a fan? im just trying to figure out how someone can think this team is headed in the right direction or be happy about anything the past 13 years being a dolphin fan. if you want to be happy going 8-8 or having 1 playoff appearance in 12 years then go right ahead. im sorry im too negative for you man, maybe one day this team will give me something to be positive about.

Will you finally stop bitching if we do make the playoffs? or will you continue to bitch?...I think we ALL know the answer

Why in the world would that matter more than his second year....?
Because when you look at Matt Ryan's career overall, his second year was clearly an anomaly, even compared to the rare level of play he achieved as a rookie.

Surely we could take Dan Marino's worst year and compare it to Matt Moore's best year and try to create the impression that Moore is in the same league as Marino.

So where was Matt Ryan this year?

If they had a sample size of two years you could probably do that. But they don't. You can look at Ryan this year and he was ****, was the superior talent around him carrying him all these years to the point that he loses a couple targets and he falls flat on his face. If you wanna compare 2 years, I'd compare the years the guy had minimal help from his supporting cast to Tanny's first two years. That would be a fair approach, but I understand you have your little irritating agenda. Numbers can tell any story you want them too, but only the film means ****. And even with that it's no fair, you're comparing a 6 year vet to a 2 year vet.

The "film," as though you're some sort of expert, on the edge of your seat in a smoke-filled room with Xs and Os diagrams on the chalkboards on the walls, a reel-to-reel projector ticking away as you intently critique the all-22 footage, assimilating the totality of Ryan's 2013 performance into your vast array of professional experience.

Obviously based on the bolded above you don't know thing one about how Matt Ryan played this year.

I'm not sitting around watching Falcons games too much, but Ryan's play took a dip without Julio in the fold. And ya I hardly painted that picture...you're just being your condescending self. Why'd you get banned from that other forum again?

My point is if you evaluated Ryan the same way you've evaluated Tanny you would've cut him after his second year without realizing it was an "anomaly". I personally never said I watched the film on Ryan, you use your #'s as a crutch to push your points.

I don't understand why people are saying if they are a fan or not. We are obviously all fans or cheer hard for the team.
The question was "are you proud" and I took it as "currently" proud. We have all been proud over the years and we are all fans.
I'm voted not proud. I'm a fan, but I'm not currently "proud" of the things going on in Miami, as in "pleasure or satisfaction or high opinion".
I'm often perplexed and I don't go out of my way to brag to hard the last few years. So that is not the definition of proud to me.

Proud of what? Actually I did not vote in the poll because there was no selection for, Apathy. I couldnt care any less right now about this team. I just dont really care what they do. Its not my fault I am apathetic to this team, its Ross's fault, its Philbins fault,. its parcells fault, its the entire organizations fault. Im more invested right now in Cuse BBALL anyways of which ,is having a magical season and am definitely always been proud of.

But what about "the film"?

I'm still an amateur...I hardly said I wasn't. I said film is more important than some random correlations that determine jack. So I answered your question, so my 2 you didn't address:

1. Would you have drafted a first round QB as a Falcons front office guy based on the bad year Ryan had in year 2? Because it seems like that's how you would treat Tanny.

2. Why aren't you over at thephins?

Cheers.

Look at this beauty I dug up.

Never said Tannehill is bad. I said he has not proven anything yet? Just look at the last 2 games. I was talking about bad personnel decisions, and was presenting a hypothetical. It is fact we would have been better off picking Matt Ryan over Jake Long. Yes Matt Ryan is not the best, but is still a starting QB, talking stability something we have not had since Marino left, and I hope you are right about Tannehill because if we don't get to the Playoffs this year any chance Joe or Ryan our coaching or starting in 2015, probably not.

Matt Ryan didn't prove anything through 2 seasons either and he's "elite" to some. Point is you have to be patient in order to see if a QB is going to succeed. I understand Russell Wilson was a 2nd year player and Kaepernick was a 2nd year player last year but it isn't all that common.

How do you figure the Marino/Moore comparison? I listed Matt Ryan and Ryan Tannehill's first two seasons and they compare to each other. How is that similar to the comparison you're trying to make?

Its craziness.

Not sure what argument he would try to prove by comparing Marinos worst year with Moores best year, except Moores best year still wouldnt be any better than Marinos worst

You listed the second season, only, for both players, without listing the first.
