And they didn't lose to Buffalo after a bye, and then again to them and the Jets with the playoffs on the line?

Again, you're entitled to focus on anything you want, but the fact is with an 8-8 team there is bad and good

they were an 8-6 team with 2 games left against 2 bad teams and we're blown out in each game. how can you not focus on that? with all the draft picks, cap space that led to big name free agent signings, how on earth can you say anything good about going 8-8, absolutely choking the last 2 games of the season and missing the playoffs(yet again)???

lost to buffalo twice, the jets, bucs....and we should hang our hats on the fact that they almost made the playoffs? i really believe most young dolphin fans have no clue what its like to root for a winning team, therefore the bar is set to such low standards that ALMOST making the playoffs is seen as a succesfull season with the team headed in the right direction.

To be clear, there are many of us here who are likely much older than you and recall very clearly the ups and downs of rooting for a team. I also think that it is a bit arrogant to think you have some type of higher authority on how or why someone should root for a team. You obviously enjoy reliving the negatives of the past season and do so consistently in your posts. No problem.....that is your choice. Some of us choose to look at things positively.....and the 2013 season is done, we are looking ahead to 2014. You mention the Bills, Jets and bucs as reasons for your pessimism, I give you the Colts, Chargers, Patriots, and Bengals as reasons for my optimism.

I'm a proud Phins fan........have been from 17 - 0 under Shula and was still there at 1 - 15 under Cameron. I like what I see for the future and I'm looking forward to free agency and the draft to see us improve from here.

512 ive been a fins fan since 1981 and how on earth and i being arrogant or telling someone how to be a fan? im just trying to figure out how someone can think this team is headed in the right direction or be happy about anything the past 13 years being a dolphin fan. if you want to be happy going 8-8 or having 1 playoff appearance in 12 years then go right ahead. im sorry im too negative for you man, maybe one day this team will give me something to be positive about.

i'll be a lot prouder once Ms. Martin is forever gone from this team.

There is no denying that right now is one of the darkest moments in the history of the Dolphins franchise. I am not talking just about bullygate, but the last 10 plus years.

1. One playoff appearance in the last 12 seasons.

2. Star player in Ricky Williams quiting on the eve of training camp.

3. Choosing Culpepper over Bress. Culpepper plays one year with Miami and is now out of the league. Brees is still with the Saints, putting up big numbers and won a Super Bowl title(on the Dolphins home field).

4. Big name head coach in Nick Saban quitting to return to college football.

5. 1-15 season

6. GM asks inappropriate questions of a draft prospect

7. Owner tries to hire a new head coach in a public manor while still employing a head coach. After being turned down is forced to give head coach he was trying to replace an extension.

8. Jeff Fisher turns down Dolphins

9. Peyton Manning turns down Dolphins

10. Multiple GM candidates turn down Dolphins

11. Bullygate becomes a national story and the team is facing league punishment and could lose draft picks

12. Empty stadium and a failed push to make stadium upgrades

Has any team had it worse the past 10 plus years from bizarre things happening, to negative national stories and no winning on the field? A team like Buffalo or Oakland don't win either but they do so without all the scandals and blunders that the Dolphins do. So my question is to all Dolphins fans are any of you still proud to call yourself a Dolphins fan? Do you still wear your Dolphins shirts and jerseys? Do you still put on your Dolphins hat when going out? Or do you try and hide from others that you like the Dolphins?

Who's troll account is this?

We've seen a one game improvement over what we've been since 2009. And now we're facing the task of rebuilding perhaps our entire offensive line or, at the least, 4 of 5 pieces. We don't have RBs that can put up numbers despite a bad OLine. We don't have leaders in the locker room.

Maybe we'll find gold in the draft and free agency, but I'm not going to predict that's what will happen (although I'm sure many here already think our picks in the upcoming 2014 draft are the best we've ever made). I get that you want to be hopeful, but next season isn't shaping up to be a success story. If it turned out to be so, it would be the stuff of legend.

Still PROUD but, getting tuffer and tuffer to be loud on South Beach, whit so many Pats and Jets fans. I really need one year to nail both.

I'm going to wait a bit longer to make that determination

Do you want me to shoot you down on every one of your stupid points or should I simply sum it up?

Though I criticize them I am still a proud Dolphins fan. It is a storied franchise with a lot of history.
My question is: if you are so embarrassed why are you still a Dolphins fan (if you are actually one)?

I would just find another team if I feel like you.

I am tired of almost every impulse I have to fix the team, the decision makers do that exact opposite. That gets frustrating.
