Did you even read the post you were quoting?? I mean, where do you get off attacking Boomer and his hard work when you're failing reading comprehension??

Also, I'll speak for Boomer in that I know he watches a lot of game tape. Has it shipped across the pond. Boomer is such a hack that, after seeing FinHeaven's 2004 draft section, Frank Coyle offered him a job. Check it out for yourself.

I'd be one thing if you actually wanted to debate the guy. But you're just attacking someone's credibility here without a shred of substance behind it.

For a Brit! Boomer knows more about football then most the posters on this board!

Here's a pint for Boomer!:xii:

PS

Jones= Drew Bennett??? Just maybe!

Matt Jones going in the 1st rd :roflmao: Name 1 team who would be willing to waste 1st rd pick on a player who has no postion.

Also Boomer WHERE did you see Jones proving he could run solid routes and make catches consistently??Was it at the combine Boomer?Could you just be getting your info from Mel Kiper :roflmao: I bet you probably never even watched 90% of the players actually play college before. All you do is surf the net for your info, then posting it on this site.So stop pretending to be a Mel Kiper wannabe. And how many actually college games did you actually watch Jones play?

First of all 4thand10, Matt Jones has been all over the NFL channel during the combine. It has shown footage of him in Senior Bowl practices playing WR several times. It also showed his workouts at the combine. Most of the people involved in evaluating Jones see him as a first day selection. How high depends on many factors.

As for your rude post towards Boomer, he has already forgot more than you will ever know. You come off like a jealous child in your post. Looks like the mods will have to slap you on your azz again for more insults and ignorance. There was absolutely no reason for this insulting post other than you are immature and jealous of Boomers following on this board.

Simon, I am not sure if it is Jealousy I am just thinking it is more of an affliction rather than an emotion.

Exactly. For example I'm a High school teacher and on occasion I get Special Ed students mixed into my mainstream classroom. This is typical behavior for some of them as they learn proper social behavior. Their immaturity and inappropriate social behavior is clear sign of their lack of self esteem and failure to understand appropriate behavior in a public setting.

Not only that, but you'd think somone would be smart enough to actually contribute something themselves before attacking on of our boards hardest working people.

Hey Boom,
I've read quite a bit about Derrick Johnson.
Never seen the boy play, but there seems to be a general consensus that he's a physical specimen, a playmaker, an absolute beast. I've even seen some comparisons to Ray Lewis (no doubt overblown). In short, a lot of people are willing to take a flyer on him with our number 2 pick.
But on every report I've read from him, there are questions about his 'instincts' and his 'inability to shed blockers'. And every time I hear a college LB has a lack of instinct and an inability to shed blockers, I shudder. I fall into convlusions with images of Andy Katzenmoyer, Chris Claiborne and Trev Alberts invading my thoughts.
While Claiborne's turned out to be a decent LB (but certainly not worth the number 9 pick in the draft in front of Culpepper, Kearse, Winfield...), the Kat isn't even active any more (after gracing the covers of SI more than once) and lets say the Colts would probably like to have that number 5 pick back.

There is know doubt in my mind, instincts and a natural feel for the game are 2 very important assets to have as an NFL LB. A freak of nature can probably make up for his lack of instincts in the college game, but once he arrives in the NFL, the game becomes not only faster but also more complex.

Does Derrick Johnson have what it takes to be a very good NFL player?? The last LB to go number 2 was Lavar Arrington ? Do you see comparisons between the 2 ??
With the young LB's we have (Eddie Moore and Derrick Pope) do you think we can afford to invest our number 2 on a LB (IMO we've got to fill some holes at the skill positions such as RB, WR or DE) ???

All the best mate and take you time with your mock (I know it's not easy with all the shuffling going on at BBC and we still have 1 month and a half left before so it would be a bit premature. Nevertheless, I'm eagerly looking forward to it)

:)

Boomer,

This is a little off topic but...

how do the compensatory picks get distributed? Would we get any picks for Greenwood since he was a 2nd round pick? Would that pick come in the 2006 draft? Thanks.

Basically the league rewards teams for players lost the previous free agency. Those rewards come in the form of draft picks, almost exclusively from round 3 onwards, and are handed out so that the pick comes at rounds end. But they are tempered somewhat by the amount of free agents that you sign, etc. I would imagine we may get something from Todd Wade this year. Anything for Morlon will come next year.

It's pretty childish whether an affliction or an emotion.

A bigger, quicker version certainly. He's the sort of player that you think Bill Belichick might look at. He loves those hybrids and you can be sure that they would be running plays with him out wide, in the slot, playing QB, on special teams, etc.

Usually about 2/3 weeks before the draft mate.

Aye Simon that it is, anyway I am sure he is banished to Neverland with all the Lost Boys. One question for you, how do you think Barber did in the Combine and did he stay the same or enhance his position? I know he had a real good vertical jumps(so he can hurdle tacklers :D )but did not see any of his other stats. Any news on my local boy?

Cheers

Paul

Hey Boom, I have a question for ya, what do you think of Kennoy Kennedy, and what do you think our chances of signing him are?
