Ask Boomer

Thanks Boomer. New question. What are your thoughts on Adam Snyder, Chris Myers on the OL, and Andre Maddox, Sean Considine and Ben Emanuel at S? I am not saying we will be picking these players, just want a scouting report. By the way, how's the family doing and how is fatherhood treating you?

Ryan Moats
Maurice Clarett and
Darren Sproles

Boomer, if you dont mind me asking,:

1) What OL do you think might be possibilities during day one?

2) Do predict us trading down?
3) Do you think it is more likely we take a top tier QB and a second tier RB or a highly profiled RB with a second tier QB?

Boomer it seems like a banner year for middle round run plugging DTs, any of this years crop you think would best fit our bill in rounds 3 and later ??

I have a question for Boomer, or anyone that can answer it, where can I find a list of all of the players that teams have brought in for an individual workout?

There aren't really all that many in the middle rounds. It's Ronalf Fields, Anthony Bryant, and maybe Ellison. Otherwise... Hawthorne early and Means very late. Ummm I guess you could consider C.J. Mosley another early but he's more of a one-gap DT while Ellison is the two-gapper.

Best Scenario

Is if minnesota go Braylon Edwards crazy and give us both their #1, though i doubt it would be best draft we have had for a long time.

1. RB Cadillac Williams
1. WR Mark Clayton
2. DT Antajj Hawthorn
3. QB Kyle Orton

best wishes mate

Football questions for anyone

 Do you think that the Chiefs deal will go thorugh? I would be very upset at losing Surtain, he is one of the best corners in the NFL.

As of right now, besides Stockar Mcdougle, and Jeno James I don't see any offensive lineman that are good. Do you think that Sabin will put more into the o-line?

Agree or disagree? The Phins should give up 1st, and 2nd round drafts picks for a shot Shaun Alexander, or Edgerin James. They are proven running backs and say Ronnie Brown, or Cedric Benson aren't.

I might get in trouble for this, but I must say it. Feely stinks! He showed a little promise, about as much as Chad Hutchinson did for the Bears. If the Dolphins wants have a winning season this year, they need a real quarterback. What are the chances of someone like Kurt Warner, or Phillip Rivers? As far as drafting one, it's hard to win games with even the best rookie quarterback.

Boomer-

If we do not take a RB at #2 and either have a mid round 1st or KC's 2nd round pick through trades, which running backs do you see as the most versitile and athletic that will still be around at those spots?

Thanks for your time!

You are missing AJ Lindsay, He is the late DT I like the most.

Family is great, as is fatherhood. Thanks.

Snyder is a solid but slow G, who has nice technical tools, but is pretty limited as a side to side or out in front mover. Myers is very similar....tough bu tsiff, straight line player. Maddox is instinctive and hits hard, but doesn't do a great job when the ball is in the air. Looks a zone safety to me, but a great ST player. Considine is a guy I like - takes good angles, hits well, can cover some, breaks on the ball well, can make plays, etc. Emanuel looks like a guy with all the tools in the world an no application. If I could run/jump etc like he can, i would like to think I would be a hell of a player. He looks like he is going through the motions. No awareness, doesn't bring the wood, is a poor tackler, etc. He is versatile and someone will fall in love with him, but I don't rate him.

I like Barber - he's tough, he has great power, can break tackles, can beat players as well as run over them, has ripped off some long gainers at Minnesota and his weaknesses - hands and blocking are absolutely coachable. He's not weak in either area particularly, he just needs some better coaching. Houston I also like - I followed him some at high school and during his recruiting process. I think he has massive upside if only he could be more consistent. If it's not injuries just as he really looks good, it's fumbles. But he has a really nice size/speed/talent combo and could be the sort of back to break out in the pros. Arrington has done really well for Cal - sets up his blocks well, has very good vision, quick, has moves, but his size as a blocker, his mediocre hands and the fact that he starts off very deep in the Cal backfield and gets his acceleration before Aaron Rodgers gets the ball to him, will change in the pros. I also think when he gets hit he stays hit.

Moats is interesting - he has some size issues as well, but is quick, has nice vision, can make people miss, is strong physically despite his size, has good hands, but his problem is that he coughs the ball up way too much. Would be a nice change of pace for someone. Clarett you can't take seriously because he won't have played a down for almost three years at the start of the 2005 NFL season. And Sproles will be a 3rd down back/return man operating at a high level. If used correctly, he could be hugely dangerous and is the sort of player that Belichick would relish.
