If Gus starts the game and the score is 14-7 at half, Gus should not get benched..that's making a QB play scared, always looking over his shoulder instead playing the game. We went though that last year, I hope Saban doesn't do it this year.

I think AJ is a better QB, but Im very supportive of Gus, I just wish he would stop trying to act like Elway or Marino and start playing smart football. Take what the defense gives you, create a rhythm with the short and mid range passes and then kill the defense with the deep passes when they are there. He needs to improve his accuracy. Also, he is "feeling" pressure too soon, he is letting the ball go too soon because of that and that is effecting his timing.

GrnMtnMan said:It doesn't matter in the interim a rookie QB is just that a rookie. There will be growing pains no matter how you slice it. I'd rather take one on the chin right now have better draft position/leverage than be average with Frerotte.

I think AJ is the better of the two and Im hoping he becomes a pro bowl QB for us. This way we will be free to draft other positions next year (CB, DT, OL)

phinphan11 said:Here's a thought.... what happens if Gus performs admirably? No one seems to think this can happen, based on his "career" play.
I believe it can happen, but it is also definitely possible that he stinks up the joint like so many FF's (Feeley Fans) expect him to.
poisonphin said:No, switching QBs in the middle of the game never works, you need to let them play through.
gimmemybullits said:Feeley was a career 3rd stringer in Philly. He couldn't beat out Fiedler or Gus( both backups themselves) here in Miami. How many strikes does this guy need? I'd say he's been judged pretty fairly by now.
