Atlanta Falcons Desperate for DL? We've got a lot in stock...

You guys can't afford Vick

Besides, half the guys on the list are just as hurt as the falcons DLinemen..

Nobody is gonna trade for a dinged up old lineman that you'ed offer.

2 guys that are at 85-90% isn't the whole list buddy.....obviously you don't know what you're talking about....

DE Brady Smith just had serious neck surgery that could sideline him for a significant part of the season.

This comes in the wake of DT Rod Coleman's arrest and being charged with disorderly conduct. If Coleman pleads guilty or is convicted, he could get suspended by the league.

Per the article, the Falcons were already thin on DL before Smith's injury and Coleman's arrest.

Just to update you, we have the following players ALL with significant NFL experience...

DE/DT Kevin Carter
DE/DT Vonnie Holliday
DE Jason Taylor
DE David Bowens
DT Keith Traylor
DT Larry Chester
DT Jeff Zgonina
DT Dario Romero

In addition to that, we have newcomers...

DE Matt Roth
DT Manuel Wright
DT Kevin Vickerson

I once posted that the Dolphins may look at the possibility of Vonnie Holliday at NT, and getting him to gain a significant amount of weight. This is because he is currently 5th on the depth chart at DE.

Perhaps the Dolphins could shop one of these excess linemen to the Falcons? Or perhaps you think we really do need 11 defensive linemen on a team that employs four down linemen on some plays, and only three down linemen on other plays....

Great. All this comes down a day after I draft Atlanta's defense for my fantasy team.

That sucks, I feel for you.

You all can't be serious about the falcons trading Vick.

I'm not as pissed about Brady Smith as I am about Rod Coleman. The day after I draft Atlanta's defense, that moron goes and gets in a fight. Jerk-off. Why can't NFL players just abide by the f*cking law? EVERY WEEK some other idiot gets arrested for something.

I had Atlanta on my list of defensive picks too. They looked real good esp at the end of last year. I'm so happy I don't draft until mid august.

Why are any of you guys even continuing the discussion about getting Michael Vick....... This just in from our local news affiliate WDUM...........

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!

Man the season can't start soon enough. Maybe then we'll stop talking about such ridiculous situations. It's ridiculous for anyone to think we'd be well off if Jason Taylor was gotten rid of. Furthermore, it's even more ridiculous to think a JT for Vick trade would ever be in the works. Ya, the Falcons are gonna trade their franchise QB, who's got alot of years left in him, for a DE who's already turned the corner on 10+ years in this league.

Are you able to trade your DEFENSE? I can switch defenses with other available defenses or trade mine with other fantasy players.....the best D is going to be the Baltimore Ravens...but you can wait until about your 7th, 8th pick to get a solid D. Good luck.

Jason Taylor for Michael Vick???

No, not Vick.

But I wouldn't mind getting their 1st and 4th or something like that next year for Taylor =O)

I don't see Bowens being pursued by the Falcons unless it is as a hybrid DE/OLB...which is what we're using him as right now.

I suggested Holliday because he's got the prerequisite strength to play DE in a 3-4 scheme (which is what they use in Atlanta, isn't it?)

Bowens isn't bad CK at DE, I actually think he would have had a even better year this year had we stayed in the 4-3, he is a motor on the field and very physical...a package of him, Zgonia, and Holiday should net us something nice in terms of pick and player..maybe just boston and zgonia for pick. Say highs of a 2nd, no lower than a 3rd.

Too many people say Vick cant throw the ball, or he fumbles and throws INTs but look at all the yardage he gets running it and all the problems he creates...I love JT but I would make this trade....not sure how it would effect our cap as Vick makes huge $$$$ but I would make the deal given JT's age versus Vicks and what he could bring us versus what we have with Feeley and Gus.

roman ole friend i wouldnt have vick and his 100 mil contract :goof:

I guess the Falcons owner and co-founder of Home Depot has a lot of money to blow in Atlanta....I would not have offered him as much either,,,,but Manning makes ridiculous money too and what has he won for the Colts. We need to draft Omar Jacobs next year...he will be our Michael Vick without the fumbles.
