Barry Jackson Tidbits before Training Camp

No way Bess gets cut this season. Our WR corps is God awful. Why the Hell would you cut one of the two WRs that A.) consistently catches the passes thrown to him and B.) doesn't fall down after catching the ball with nobody anywhere near them? It boggles my mind how anyone could compare Bess and Hartline and come to the conclusion that Bess is the one getting cut.

I would keep Hartline over Bess.

I would keep Hartline over Bess.

Based on what?
At least Bess has proven himself to be a very useful slot receiver. Hartline is AT BEST a decent #2 guy, and he probably wouldn't start on most teams in this league.

I'd rather cut bees over hart line. You've seen bess at his best

Weeden? I knew he was a first round quarterback. I think most people did, didn't they?

I'll admit Tim Tebow was a surprise. I had him slated in the 2nd to New England.

The draft is an entirely different monster, IMO. I completely understand what you're saying, which is in the NFL so many things are far from guaranteed. I see this team, and I see the production of Bess. I'm willing to make the bet! I only keep saying bet because you said something about betting the whole ranch and I figured it'd be a neat way to donate to the say. What do ya say?

By the way, your first sentence there is a real doozy. Did you actually mention at some point before the draft that you saw Weeden as a 1st round QB? I don't recall. Those who did were few and far between.

Bess also doesn't randomly fall over after a catch when no one is near him.

All D Bess does is get open and catches the football. Over and over, game in game out.

Stop looking for "perfect" WRs and use what we have.

you got a offense built around run after the catch with a top 2 currently at least it seems wr that doesn't like to run after the catch in hartline...i mean he's not ted ginn level avoid contact at all cost but the kid always goes to ground it seems when he catches the ball...i keep hearing about his great balance imo if he had great balance and body control he wouldn't be on the ground all the time after the catch...

but i'm one of those people that thinks hartline in a good wr core is more a #3 or #4 guy...

How is it that we all the sudden have a "you got a offense built around run after the catch with a top 2 currently at least it seems wr that doesn't like to run after the catch in hartline" ... when the last few years our FO & Coaching staff lamented our lack of YAC? ... & also lack of team speed.
