Bidding War For Quinn?

The whole idea they are building for next year is repulsive.

The fact they have a gall to ask the owner to pay millions of dollars to a departing player, millions of dollars for a pick, and that the owner is willing rach for his pocket and give away cash, is idiotic.

This whole Quinn thing is so stupid on so many levels. Morons gonna moron.

Interesting....

To Largo

If that is the premise you are operating on, and you are enable to get past it, you are not going to be happy with anything they do.

You have already prejudged the front office, owner, and staff.

Perhaps you would be better off following a team that more closely mirrors your personal philosophy.

Just an option, for you to consider.

As far as "buying picks", seems like they are exploiting a loophole, to their advantage. It's not your money, and it's not like there is any possible way to field a contender this season, so I'm not seeing the downside.

No, you are not giung to tell me what team to follow. This owner is an idiot and so is the GM.

Here, what would you say as an owner if I asked you to give me FIVE MILLION DOLLARS to buy a fourth round pick?
To increase the cap hit this year from 13 mil to 18 mil so that we have less cap space to improve the team. So that we just dish out 5 mil to a departing player.
So that we can possibly improve the team with a fourth round pick next year, even though this year you, mr. owner, are paying 180 million dollars in payroll.

Would you say that is a grand plan with your money? Or would you tell me to pack up and gtfo!

Who even has a gall to ask for sht like that, but an idiot?

I don't think there will be any real benefits for the Dolphins to this bidding war in terms of compensation. We most likely will get a 6th or a 7th rounder from either team. The real winner of the bidding will be Quinn as he'll be able to secure more money beyond his final year of his contract.

That's not how that works.... It would essentially be lowering his Cap hit from 11.8 to 6.8 if we paid 5M of it in a signing bonus. We'd save $6.8 instead of $11.8.

He constantly posts clueless ****, no one can pound sense / facts into him

Apparently its better to keep an aging veteran, who makes a good amount of money, AND doesn't fit the scheme we will be running than it is to acquire future picks for players that will be on the team in 3-5 years

I wasn't telling you what to do, just suggesting a way in which you might be happier.

It's really up to the owner what checks he cares to write. No one is extorting him.

Honestly, the only reason I respond to your posts is because your ranting amuses me.

This is like from a week or so ago. He's already spoke to NO too. As far as Dallas, the hold up seems to be Quinn wants an extension and I'm not sure Dallas wants to do that at the moment. I'm starting to think nothing will get done till either draft weekend or right after. Teams often want to see who they were able to get in the draft and then go after a player they might need to plug a hole. Either way it looks like any pick we get from him it'll be for 2020 which is fine with me.

Largo, you were just on the mock draft thread saying we should spend money in FA for dline but you don't want to spend money for draft picks. So should we spend or not? We should only spend it for patch work and not for the future?

Aren't you the one that doesn't want to fck around? It seems to me that having the assertiveness to be proactive in getting ammo for a possible move up for a QB is not fcking around.

Draft an elite QB but don't put yourself in position to move up for an elite QB. Draft elite players but don't pay for draft picks to have better chances of drafting an elite player.

You are all over the place, my friend. One thing is for sure, if this team says the sky is blue you're going to say the shorter the wavelength, the more the light scatters. Since the rainbow of colors going from red to violet corresponds with wavelengths of light going from long to short, the shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more. So our sky appears blue because of all the scattered blue light and that they are fcking around.

Answer me this without any bullsh!t altogether; why are you a fan?

And it's not affecting future money.

I'd pay for as many draft picks as I can afford. Loophole is the perfect word. Who knew it could be that easy.
