(The Billls) ... continue to work at putting together an offer sheet for tight end Charles Clay, on whom the Miami Dolphins placed a transition tag, and they aren’t finished in their pursuit of other players in the open market. On Wednesday, they entertained wide receiver/return specialist Percy Harvin, who played for Bills coach Rex Ryan last season with the New York Jets.

The Bills’ goal is to load the offer sheet for Clay, whom they flew to Western New York on Tuesday, heavily in the first year to discourage the Dolphins from matching it to retain him, while also trying to allow themselves to have enough cap room to sign Harvin. According to an NFL source, the Bills were looking to present the offer to Clay on Thursday. The Dolphins would have five days from the moment the offer is presented to decide whether to match it. If they don’t, Clay would join the Bills and the Dolphins would receive no compensation.

To that end, the Bills released veteran tight end Scott Chandler Wednesday, and also gave veteran defensive tackle Kyle Williams a contract extension that will reduce his salary cap hit this year.

Good we can spend the money elsewhere. Dion Sims come on down! Your the next contestant on the price is light.

That means tomorrow and possibly the next 5 days are going to be exciting. Either we match and keep Clay, or they over pay and we snag Cameron.

Who know's maybe Wallace and Ellerbe restructure just to sweeten the deal.

they over pay we move on. bring in Cameron or hopefully snag a te in the 2nd. Cameron is a good risk to take imo. we ryan needs a 6'5 red zone target in the worst way. he gets hurt we still have sims. could be worse ...

we better not drag this out a week like we are allowed to

Bills interested in former KC TE Anthony Fasano after team cut Scott Chandler. Fasano could visit Buffalo if he doesn't sign w/ the Titans.

I'm sure they fully intend to overpay. I hope that we take the entire 5 days to decide. Keep them hanging like they were doing to us.

Part of me hopes that after Clay gets the offer sheet he gives the Dolphins a chance to match the value but at a structure that fits for the Dolphins.

Source: The #Bills r expecting to continue their visit w/ Percy Harvin today. Scheduled to be picked up around 8:30am & return to facility.

I think the Bills are either or when it comes to Clay vs. Harvin.

I think we should go after Harvin, if he's going to take a "prove it contract" it might as well be in Miami.
