Billy Volek's Agent seeks trade...

i would say a 3, but they would ask for a 2...

what do you guys think the demand is right now?

Volek is worth a 3rd rounder..and I for one would LOVE to have him!

-Give'm AJ and D.Thompson and a 6th..

They would need a back up and Feeley or Sage could go in a deal. I agree w/ Thompson too. Not to many proven wrs' there, not that thompson is either. We will have to wait and see. Volek would have more leverage if he held out and demanded the trade and agreed to a low salary for the first year or the same contract he currently has. That would bring a high price for his services.

I dont see how those who hated the Feeley trade can be in favor of Volek trade.. Its basically the same exact scenario.. QBs dont come cheap, and a trade for Volek would mean yet another 2nd rounder.. possibly even a 1st.

Yeah, but Orton is really catching on there. He might be there man before seasons end.

I love Saban and love what he has done this offseason, but I think he let one get by him by not drafting Orton when he had the chance. I live in Indiana so I got to see Orton play quite a bit (Purdue). This kid is going to be a very good NFL QB.

He has good skills and had some really good games for the Titans last season. I love the idea about giving them Feeley and Thompson for him, dead weight anyway. Id actually offer Feeley, Thompson and Feeley/ Gordon.

It's only August. Plenty of time for him to come in and learn the system. He has the BIG TIME arm and is somewhat proven. Feeley / Thompson couldn't hurt us. I wouldn't want to give up a draft pick, no more of that. But would love to see him come in. Titans are in a tricky situation. If Mcnair plays well and doesn't get hurt this year, would Billy V be a free agent next season? I thought he was signed already?

I think Volek would be an upgrade over the QB's we have now. I remember the Monday Night game when Volek threw 4 td's against the Chiefs and the way he threw the ball to Bennett. They still lost the game to the Cheifs but that was a hell of a game by Volek and Bennett. Volek might come cheaper for us than trying to sign a QB through next year's draft...I'd give up a 2nd rounder and a decent player for Volek.

Volek can make all the noise he wants, but the Titans won't trade him. We know that Steve McNair is good for a couple missed games every year. And without many real good QB prospects in the future, hanging onto a decent QB like Volek is a good move if/when McNair calls it a career.

Titans will not let him go, Mcnair is a hard sneeze away from the DL.
:rofl3:
and isn't it funny how everyone talks of how tough he is. McNair almost retired last year, I don't think that Tennessee would get rid of Volek, unless they plan to throw the year and get Leinhart.

i dont see many desperate teams in need of a average QB. and that will drop his trade value. sucks for the titans. but **** them. music city miracle my ***.

Get-a-life. Get-over-it. Not even the same players anymore.

As far as "average QB", you obviously haven't seen him play. I'd imaging that Volek is probably the best backup QB in the league and better than average starting QB if given the chance. He played lights out last season. I would take him over JP Losman and Gus and AJ anyday. THere are many teams he could be the best QB on: Miami, Buffalo, Jets, Cleveland, Cincy (maybe), Baltimore, Raiders, Redskins, Arizona, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, 49ers (at least for now), Falcons (Vick sucks at QB), Tampa Bay, New Orleans.

Well, it's a similar scenario, but not the same. They are both based are predicting the future careers of backup QB's, but Volek played extremely well last year for Tenn, whereas, Feeley managed a few games and won them for Philly in a Fiedler-esque type manner.
