Blackout extended

offices were closed, giving them an extra day to make sales, what is your beef with that?
so the only time these people could buy a ticket was on a holiday?? and the office was closed, so they are getting screwed?? they couldnt do it any other day? come on.

if a person wants to buy a ticket, closing the ticket office for one day, a few days before the deadline isnt going to affect sales. they would simply buy the tickets the next day.

but i dont care, sell out. just more people there to boo the QB after a mistake. (im told yall boo, and saban got mad..... just pointing out facts here... :couch: .)

Does anybody else think that we have one of the larger stadiums in the NFL? I have heard that some teams wave 65K seat stadium and JRS is 80K seats? That could be a reason... as well as all the transplants

Why? If there are only a "few thousand" tix left then the local station will buy them up & put on the game. With the walk-up crowd the game will sell out.

Ok folks, here's your perfect example of this situation, and why it exists. "Why should I go spend $40 dollars when someone else will???"....

It's fans like this that cause the games to be blacked-out. They wont spend the money when someone else is more willing. Pathetic....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Back in 2001 before the playoff game against Baltimore, I heard there were several thousand tickets left and Wannschmuck pleaded with the fans to come put and support the team. So what did me and one of my best friends- also a huge Dolphins fan- do? Got in the car and drove 1,500 miles to Miami, got 3 speeding tickets between the two of us, only to see the Dolphins lose 20-3 in one of the most depressing playoff games in franchise history. We got as many tickets as the Dolphins scored points. The game was still blacked out locally because it didn't sell out by the deadline. I understand not everyone can do this- especially now with gas prices being what they are. But if you have the means and can go- get in your car and drive down to South Florida and support your Dolphins. I'd go to this game, but I already have plane reservations and tickets for the KC game in October.

Wow, You are pretty high and mighty on your Bills? Why is that? What have they done? They suck, they will be fighting it out with Miami for a 7-9 or 8-8 record. You need a reality check, Bills suck!

Broke as well...as have stated in previous post. Had tickets to the last game and couldn't make it due to my cashflow. South Florida, has a very very rich tax base. But unfortunately IMO a lot of these "moneybags" are transplants and really can't stand the dolphins. Its the working guy who would die to go to more than one game a year...and can't. Very sad. Although i do plan on getting season tickets next year, they're still probably gonna be nosebleeders.

yeah, people don't understand that in Miami people make a lot less $$$ and we have to pay a lot more in inflated insurance costs and other things. and it's not just $40 or $50, it's $20 for parking, plus beer and everything else. You're looking at close to $100 dollars per person per game, that's not a lot in NY or somewhere else where the salaries are higher, but it's a lot down here.

People are so broke, go to the mall on Saturday and see how many broke people are in South Florida. What blows my mind, and this is not an attack on anyone, is that people (especially down here) always complain about having no money, yet the malls are compeltely full of people buying garbage. Also, those that think that it is cheap to live in other cities are flat out wrong. You have to make nearl 1 1/2 time more in NY thatn South Florida to live the same life. Sorry for the rant.

Miami fans have been pathetic for years, I dont think it will change.

There is alot of Miami fans that are pathetic, but it wasn't ever for football... Miami has averaged selling 72,500+ each year out of 75,000... I don't think it'll be that high this year thx to Wanny... Probably 67,500-70,000 range...

give it up. Even if the blackout is lifted, if your team doesn't win, there will be more blackouts and the question is, will you keep making such threads every week?

The dolphins have one of the biggest fanbase spread out all over the country and Canada. Not everyone can fly game after game with the gas prices affecting plane ticket prices. If you look closely, So. Fla does not have a whole lot of people interested in football but they will salsa on the dance floor anyday.

Thats mr. salsa to you. :)

BTW, if someone buys me a plane ticket for Saturday and return monday to Rochester NY, i will buy a ticket!
