BREAKING NEWS: Boston Coming Back!

That's putting a little too much faith in Feeley's abilities...but Marino in his prime could get 6000 with this offense.
Throw in our D and Marino would've made the Hall Of Fame his rookie season.

Thanks for backing me up somewhat. Of course I am stretching here, it was sort of a joke, someone doesnt get it! Its called being positive and psyched!

Comon guys let's make it a bit more realistic.

Chambers- 1050
Booker-825
Boston-750
McMicheal-730
Brown-450
Others-300-500

Our primary QB around 3950 yards passing or so

I like this move. Very little risk on a minimal contract, with a possible HUGE upside.

Negatives:

Boston is a bit of a head case.

Coming off a major injury.

Tested positive for banned substance.

Positives:

Minimal contract, no real cap risk.

Has shown he can cooperate (as he was doing last year before injury).

Has all the incentive in the world to have a good year and get a "real" contract in 2006.

Very physical WR with (probably) still blazing speed. Nice combo.

Adds solid WR depth to the Dolphins, will push Booker and even Chambers for starting time.

This could be a very explosive offense if Feeley and the OL can do their part. Chambers, Boston, Booker, McMichael, and Brown? All kinds of toys for Linehan.

The 28 lurkers here with me all agree too! ;)

You do realize that Boston when healthy and playing is more talented than most #1 Wr's in the NFL, that is the question. If he can do that and produce. If he plays the whole season he will probably end up leading the team in receptions or close to it behind Chambers, not saying that they will both have 90+ reception years or anything like that, but the man is skilled.

I have long held and will continue to hold our most talented receiver is one Marty Booker. He took the type of talent Chambers had around him or worse and turned it into dual 1000 yard seasons. Give him a QB as accomplished as even Jake Plummer, and I think he would have outshined Boston at Boston's height. Booker isn't the physical presence that Boston is. He doesn't have the leaping ability Chambers does. He's a lot like Marvin Harrison -- he just gets the job done.

Back to Boston, though -- Boston *was* a huge talent. That came before he hurt himself in Arizona, became obsessed with "nutrition" to the tune of eventually being found with placenta bi-product in his body, alienated his head coach in San Diego, alienated his position coach here to the point that he told Saban he wouldn't recommend keeping him, apparently assaulted a ticket agent, and tore an important tendon in his leg. In making the projections I'm making, I'm ignoring all of the discipline issues and just looking at the injuries. He has had some serious wear and tear and has screwed around with his body in a major way. All Marcus had (and trust me, he was an amazing talent himself) was an ACL tear.

Even if Boston is 100% of what he was in 2001, he's going to have to prove he still has it and that whatever he has is better than what Booker and Chambers has before he gets a chance to put up substantial stats. I like this signing at the right price, but nobody should get overly excited. What ever happened to once bitten, twice shy?

I would really like to see Feely throwing downfield 50 yards close to sideline 1 on 1 with Chambers. I believe we can get alot of long plays via catching and interference/holding calls!

How'd they put it on the playground? Oh yeah -- SCOREBOARD! I think I'll take the Pro Bowler two time 1000 yard receiver, thanks.

Maybe you'd be better off spending more time learning about football and spending a tad less time on Dolphins message boards...

ummmmm...Deion Branch has one thing that Booker doesn't: SUPERBOWL MVP.
I know you're a fellow fin fan, but take the time to think clearly before you post. Remember, "The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese."

You know who else has a Super Bowl MVP???

Larry Brown, the corner for Dallas.

Now, would you have taken him over Pat Surtain?

Brown 450 yards receiving divided by 16 is 28 yards a game. :shakeno: Do you realize what Ronnie can do after he catches a ball??

Uh ya obviously. It's his rookie year though buddy. Don't expect L.T. receiving stats.

Oh, come on man. That's the best you can do when you're looking for an argument? Do I really need to whip out the list of Super Bowl MVPs and show you some guys who came up big in one game but weren't anywhere NEAR the top of the field as far as their position goes? Seriously, check it out.
