Breaking News: Mike Pouncey not likely to be punished by the NFL

Don't forget he took a picture without a shirt on. Oh, and he played for the Florida Gators.

Amazed he is still allowed in the NFL.

Pouncey has been in the news and all over this forum for some time, and it has not been for anything good aside from MANY more clicks on FH. :) Is that the kind of player Phans want to keep?

He has done nothing criminal, and is a VG player but, his behavior and attitude are very questionable. For some NFL HC's and teams this is not acceptable for the type of player they want on their team, and have to believe Philbin is one of them.

Just curious, but what NFL team are you referring to? I don't recall pro-bowl players getting cut for staying out till 4am on his birthdays or for owning distasteful clothing. If Philbin had a problem with Pouncey, I can guarantee that Philbin would not have exercised that 5th year option on Pouncey.

You can look up and down every roster in the league and find guys with DUIs or arrest records, and they aren't getting cut. I don't understand all the hate for Mike Pouncey...this guys hikes a ball for a living, he's not managing your stock portfolio. I don't expect him to be some choirboy who stays home on Saturday night solving differential calculus equations.

His off the field lifestyle lends itself to him eventually getting into serious trouble, not to mention some of the rumblings about exactly what he is involved in during his off the field time. His type of issues could be tolerated for a big time skill position player that are hard to replace but a ball club doesn't have to take that gamble on a center. There's not that big a difference between a "top 5 center" and the number 12th ranked center.

Did we not trade Marshall for less reason?

No? Marshall got into fistfights with teammates during practice, was involved in domestic abuse, refused to run certain routes during games, threw his QB and coaches under the bus, was involved in a domestic stabbing incident, involved in escalating the Darrent Williams shooting, showed up to a practice in pajamas and refused to play ......I dont know how you can say Marshall has done less than Pouncey, that's just ridiculous.

Off the top of my head, Jackson from Philly would be one, and I recall Ozzie Newsome doing some house cleaning with problem children in Balt.

Picking up the option was a good business decision, with no risk.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the most passionate advocates for getting rid of a dumb 24 yo lineman Pouncey because of his friendships voted once or twice for an educated 40+ candidate with untoward potential impact despite having as his formative years mentor a card-carrying Communist, as his long-time spiritual adviser a rabid race monger and as a friend and adviser, a domestic terrorist in his younger days who still depicts himself as an "anarchist." Now wouldn't that be the height of hypocrisy, eh?

Yes, the guy is a dumbass but he plays mighty fine football.

The guy has been found guilty of absolutely nothing apart from pulling highschool pranks on some mental patient we refer to as Snake Martin.

Fights at a night club? False or not proven.

Trafficing Weapons? False or not proven.

So the guy is a 20 year old millionare who parties on his birthday? Send him to the firing squad.

Sure, just like everyone else on FH I wish every player on the roster was a boy scout who holds open doors for old ladies and says yes ma'am and yes sir. But thats not the case. And if we keep up this 'tradition' of wanting only squeaky clean players, we will get left with nothing.... eventually.

Misi punched some random guy in the face, I don't see anyone calling for him to get the boot. In fact most on FH are praising his team first attitude and not complaining about switching over to MLB.

Jimmy Wilson killed a guy (acquitted).

Randy Starks assualted a police officer.

So a guy that parties a little too hard, and has some questionable off field incidients gets the firing squad

Agree, that was a bad example.

He's talking Obama. Wrong forum Vaark.

Eh....

Vaark has a point.

If guilty by association, then Obama pre-presidency entourage lands him up creek with no paddle.

So those that go after Pouncey yet turn a blind eye to Obama is....well...

Hypocrisy

Sorry man, but anyone who holds Pouncey - a guy who hikes a football for a living - to the same standards as the president of the USA really needs to get a grip. Finheaven is taking this Pouncey bashing too far...

No. He doesn't.

If you want hypocrisy, put Pouncey on the jests these past couple of years and see what his ardent defenders say.

I agree.

People connecting Pouncey to Hernandez because the guy commited murder is irrelevant to football.

People connecting the POTUS to radicals, race baiters, communists, and border line terrorists, well we should really looked that.

:idk:
