Brees: "....either Philip or I will stay next year, and one of us will go"

College is just that...college. All signs point to Rivers sitting this season again. Now I am not saying that Feeley is a world-beater BUT he will have every opportunity to prove himself this year. If he doesn't he's gone.

IF, Rivers plays this year then Brees will be the one who hits the road. San Diego will not let their starter for the majority of this season go.

All I was saying is that both Brees and Rivers would be more seasoned and primed for a playoff run than any guy we would get from the Draft.. You agree or disagree with that asessment? Wouldnt Rivers be more seasoned than a Rookie? That was my statement.

I can't imagine Rivers going for a 1st round pick to anyone next year. Yes he was a high first round pick, but he will be sitting on the bench with NO experience for 2+ years. While not exactly like Drew Henson, don't you see a similar situation with the long layoff from football? Does Rivers, being 2 years from college help or hurt him next year? and will he get traded for anything less than a 1st rounder?

Rivers would absolutely fetch a first round pick. A first round pick who's had two years to observe the NFL game up close and to practice in the pros. Obviously, it's no substitute for game experience, but there's no reason it would do serious damage to his value. He couldn't beat out a Pro Bowl QB, where's the shame in that?

If Feeley flops, I think either one of them would be perfect for Miami.. Already seasoned and have potential for further growth.. Perfect for a Playoff and Superbowl run.

Well I would like to have one og them 2 skape, but the Chragers would probably trade one of them, and I dont want to pay a high price for one of them.

well from what i hear around here, the fins will try desperatly to sign the one who sucks. basically the one who is traded/cut after this season.

You're in the same boat kiddo... cmon Losman is a goat. He couldnt even make the UCLA starting roster so he had to run off to a crappy midmajor... what makes you think he's any good

Not exactly a big shock, but I hope we've got the cap room and the trade ammo to take one of them on. (By the way, the first person to get mad at me for throwing AJ Feeley under the bus is getting shot at sunrise. Fair warning.)

Hey, is anyone else freaked out by that mole Brees has? Looks like a fungus growing on his cheek. You'd think with the money he has, he could get that thing lasered or something.

How can you be so sure that Rivers is a guaranteed franchise QB? You don't. If I recall he had a good Sr bowl and his stock skyrocketed. He's not a can't miss prospect.

Carson Palmer.

He was also fantastic throughout his college career. The scouts knew that. When a players stock rises like that it does so in the fans and the media's eyes, not necessarily in the scouts eyes.

i dont call a player "seasoned" UNTIL they are proven. Phillip Rivers has not proven that he is capable of being a very good quarterback in this league!!!! He may have the potential to be a good nfl player but he has not done that yet. To call a player seasoned after playing one year is rediculous. He has not even played a full game!

I would take Rivers but pass on Brees. If AJ doesn't cut it as an NFL QB, then I want to start over with a new QB. Rivers is still a "new" QB. If we can't afford Rivers then I want to draft someone. I'm tired of getting backups to start for us.
