Brent Grimes and Dennis Hickey met today

Of course. Do you know his age and how CBs slow down at a certain age?

This is a tough one. We know he played great this year we all saw that. There is a risk in locking him up for like 3 years or so at his age. The safest play is to franchise him, although that will make him unhappy (like Starks) and cost more. If we sign him long term and he gets injured could put the team in a bind.

They both really want to be here, I bet he resigns soon. 2 years is prime and 3 would be okay. By the 3rd year hopefully we have cuse replacements or maybe let Grimes man the slot at his old age lol

Grimes is freakishly athletic.

Dude will still have his speed and hops well into his late 30's.

He's a special player and should be with us for the duration of his career.

I know this wont be popular....I loved the way he played this last year but at least keep on mind that he was coming back from injury, he's gong to be a year older and so it's risky to give him too much guarantee money. What if he gets hurt again? I know that can happen with anyone but at 31 it is risky. I hope w bring him back but we need to be smart about it too

Ozzy rules!!

re-signing Grimes should be priority number one for Hickey. he was a gift from ATL for passing on Matt Ryan to take Jake Long.

Signing bonus equal to the franchise tag, 3 year deal structure as a 5 year deal. I definitely would NOT ape**** crazy over a 31 yr old db.

My wife's girlfriend's cousin met a guy named Grimes at Happy Hour. Does that count as well? lol

You sign him 2-3 years 20-25 mill and look to Davis and Taylor as his main backups in case of injury.. The other side will have to be a vet free agent, hopefully someone like Sam Shields.

I'm pretty sure we're even now seeing as how Matty "Ice" melts under pressure and will never take them anywhere...

I think it is worth the risk. Grimes was great last year, and if he does happen to get hurt, yes, we will be in a bit of a financial bind, but his leadership on this team that severely lacks it, will be worth every penny.

I completely agree with you. We just watched Seattle dominate with big cornerbacks, with the general manager quoted that he was determined to look for big corners once he was in control of the roster. So what is our solution? Hand a big contract to a tiny cornerback who is already beyond 30 years old. In the Pro Bowl you could really see how the best receivers can abuse Grimes physically.

As always, do the right thing. Otherwise you are asking to steadily lose the vital 2-10% to the opposition.

Grimes is likely to regress in 2014. I hope Hickey understands that type of thing, unlike Ireland.
