Brian Billick, Mike Golic agree: Miami Dolphins shouldn’t draft Ryan Tannehill

good point. Now how will you react when Tannenhill is a 3rd stringer to start the year. Paying him big money to be barely beat out Pat Devlin? Are you kidding me?

Getting a QB this high is only worth it if he can start right away.

The difference between Tannenhill and Brock is not huge...not worth almost a complete round worth. Both need experience. Both will need to sit for at least a year.

I think tannenhill will be great but when you have 8 gM's saying he's the 18th or 19th best player, you're out of your mind to get him at 8. Again, just my opinion.

So you wouldn't take Aaron Rodgers with a top pick simply because he needed time to sit and learn things? This is so hilariously ignorant I'm not sure what to say to be honest. It'll surprise you but there are TOOLS that QBs have. You need to fine tune certain things and different attributes that can be coached. Aaron Rodgers wouldn't be half the QB he is today if he were thrown into a starter role simply because he would have had zero opportunity to improve, as he himself as said

Tannehill is not a franchise qb. Only franchise quarterbacks should be drafted in the first round. Nuff said.

You can't make that statement definitively because the draft is a bit of a crapshoot. I'm willing to bet that the Chargers and Raiders thought Leaf and Russell (respectively) were franchise QB's at the time. Many thought Matt Leinhart was one too. Going back even further; Jeff George, Todd Marinovich, Art Schlicter, Tony Eason, Todd Blackledge, David Carr, Joey Harrington, Heath Shuler, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, David Klingler etc etc etc.
I don't think the Pats, Cowboys thought they were drafting franchise QB's when they took flyers on Brady and Romo. Montana and Favre were 2nd rd picks.
Your post is pure nonsense.

Since 2008, you draft a 1st round QB muchless a TOP 10 pick. They start. Nothing ignorant about that. Its just a fact.

I could care less what either Golic or Billick think.

Billick never could find a QB at Baltimore.......and Golic? What makes Golic any kind of QB expert?

I think golic and Billick are right to an extent but we all know dang well he wont be there with our 2nd so we may have to draft him if thats what The FO wants.

Its just like fantasy baseball..I took Beltre in the 2nd but knew i wouldnt get him in the 3rd.#3rd basemans are very hard to find just like QB's so we may have to use the 8th on him.

When you have an established qb like they did you can afford to have him sit. Unless we come out of the gates like a bat out of hell and are in playoff contention throughout the whole season, i fully expect him to play this year if he is drafted by the fins.

That simply isn't true. I've heard it said several times, that he would grade out higher if not for his age.
How isn't it true? Because you said it or 1 of the "draft gurus" on this site says so? Come on like i said if he was top tier talent he'd be in discussion for the 3rd qb taken off the board not Tannehill regardless of age.

Straw man alert!!! Straw man Alert!!

I didn't say its not good for a guy to sit a year. I did say He would not beat out Garrard and Moore. So you would have him beating out Devlin. Next year is different. He would compete with Garrard (1 year deal) or Moore(last year of contract). I think the same thing could happen if Ostweiler was drafted and much later.

I would rather have a guy who competes today and that's why I would take Claiborne BPA any day. I wouldn't take Coples at 8 because I'm concerned about his lack of drive. I don't want Blackmon or that Floyd character because the offense is so nuanced. I want a stud. If he's not available (tannenhill is not a stud now) I want them to trade down. Simple as that. We need RT, QB, DE, TE and DE might be more important.

It might be hilariously ignorant you haven't realized how foolish you sound right now. Just make sure you cut those holes big enough when you protest in Davie next time. Could hurt yourself.

It's very likely Tannehill = Sanchez... and if that is the case, we are totally screwed.

I don't really see the Russell/Tannehill comparison. JaMarcus had the work ethic of a slug and an IQ even lower than that. Add in a codine syrup and gambling addiction and you have bad news.
Ok so now tell us what u know about tannehill

WHo says if the Dolphins trade up it's solely to prove to the fans they can draft the guy they're targeting? I don't get why it's automatically assumed they'd be reaching without knowing Tannehill could be 'the guy'.

have to trust what the coaching staff and front office know and think, what two talking babboons say....

Well Tannehill most likely will be there at 8, can't see the Browns not taking Trent Richardson, when they don't have many options at RB, question become is Matt Moore your guy, he's only 28, he can learn to run WCO, Garrard is on a one year contract, if Tannehill can run WCO then he is your choice at 8 because that's what the fins are installing, the current personnel will have to get the terminnology down of what sherman is calling regardless of who is the QB. I say Tannehill at 8

Why is the entire NFL world focused on our damn pick?

Leave us alone and stop spilling the beans already. All this spotlight and talking about our picks and Tannehill only makes it harder for the Dolphins to maneuver. Everyone is figuring us out. They need to leave us alone already. Gotta operate in secret, behind the scenes.

It's like the media wants us to remain a garbage team. We are the whipping boys of the NFL. Everyone has an opinion on us and it always comes with heaps of criticism.
