junc DID NOT COMPETE
:sidelol:
:sidelol:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr
Total QBR, Sanchez was 17th in 2010. That puts 16 ahead of him.
By year for Sanchez:
2009 - 23rd
2010 - 17th
2011- 27th
2012 - 36th
Oh the irony:
Geno Smith - 36th
The numbers match my assessment exactly. Below average QB that was riding the bus in 2009 and 2010. Given more responsibility and regressed in 2011. Imploded in 2012.
i'm surprised you came back in this thread junc...people should know when they are conquered
That doesn't answer the question and to even bring up total QBR tells me how much you know.
The usual nonsense from you. The 16 QBs that were ranked ahead of him in 2010 serve as my list (at least).
I challenge you to find a single, professional, unbiased ranking of QBs based solely on their play (not potential, not team results) from 2010 that puts Sanchez in the top 10.
Don't give me any crap about not basing your opinion on what others think, because your opinion is bunk and unless it is supported by legitimate sources, you lose.
The gauntlet has been thrown, will you pick it up?
Mark Sanchez is playing … top 6-7-8 QBs in this league. I’m just looking at the tape and grading plays … he’s in the top third in the league in playing QB right now
For junc's reading pleasure:
This little gem of an article is from 2012 but comments on the Jets' decision to extend Sanchez's contract after the 2011 season:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-27/jets-signing-sanchez-made-little-sense-to-some-nfl-statisticians.html
"“To give Sanchez an extension in the offseason was monumentally ridiculous,” said Aaron Schatz, editor-in-chief of FootballOutsiders.com, "
"Sanchez threw for 12 touchdowns and 20 interceptions as a rookie in 2009, then seemed to improve the following year, tossing 17 scoring passes while being picked off 13 times. Another 15 of his passes in 2010 should have been interceptions but were dropped by defenders, according to FootballOutsiders.com.
“That’s the most dropped interceptions we’ve tracked from any quarterback in the four years we’ve been doing this,” Schatz said in a telephone interview."
This is from Ron Jaworski after the 2011 season:
"“After three years in the league, Sanchez continues to struggle in two critical areas: decision-making and down-field accuracy. It’s why he’s No. 23 on my list."
Hmmm.... junc. Who has been telling that to you for 4 years? Hmmm......
Can't compare qbs in the 80s to qbs now on passer rating.
Can't compare qbs in the 80s to qbs now on passer rating.
Actually comparing qbs on passer rating is useless.

That's a stat guy, not a football guy. To people like that the TD thrown trailing 30-0 in the 4th is the same as the TD thrown to win a game in the final minute.
You can be that type of fan, I'm better than that.
So now Jaworski is a "stats guy"?
ganggreen and jetsinsider? wtf? Why not just quote marksanchez.com?
You quoted Dilfer's assessment of Sanchez's CEILING in most of the articles not his current level of play. "Ceiling is about how far a guy can ascend. It's not about who is better right now"
Here is something you left out of Dilfer's analysis of the future of the current crop of young QBs:
"So who does Dilfer like? He thinks that Jimmy Clausen is the best prepared to make an immediate impact, but that Colt McCoy will be the best of the bunch four years from now."
Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy???? ha, ha, ha.... I guess he was right Sanchez, McCoy, and Clausen are all about the same. They all have the same job description - QB busts riding the bench until they are soon out of the league.
The only article that referenced evaluating actual play said this:
"Mark Sanchez is playing … top 6-7-8 QBs in this league. I’m just looking at the tape and grading plays … he’s in the top third in the league in playing QB right now"
So which is it? top third or 6-7-8? Maybe Dilfer has a math deficiency.
Two of the articles note this:
Worth noting: Dilfer and Sanchez share the same agent
As it turns out, Dilfer is represented by David Dunn’s Athletes First firm, which also represents Colt McCoy
Or this could explain the soft spot that Sanchez once held in Dilfer's heart:

Awwww, Sanchez reminded Trent of himself......
Dilfer has been hawking Sanchez since before the 2009 draft. - http://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=8457
Apparently he had a lot invested in that opinion and just couldn't let it go.
Mark Sanchez is playing … top 6-7-8 QBs in this league. I’m just looking at the tape and grading plays … he’s in the top third in the league in playing QB right now
I was talking about the football outsiders guy.
how is this talking about ceiling, did you not notice the words "right now"?
you asked, I provided. Now get back to your boxscores to try to evaluate QBs![]()
Once again your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired.... Dilfer's analysis was for part of a single season and IMO projecting based on his obvious man-crush. Maybe Dilfer, Sanchez, McCoy, and Clausen can form a club.
This is from Ron Jaworski after the 2011 season:
"“After three years in the league, Sanchez continues to struggle in two critical areas: decision-making and down-field accuracy. It’s why he’s No. 23 on my list."
Continues to struggle. Not started to struggle. Not regressed from the previous year. CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE.
Seems like my evaluation over Sanchez's 4 years has proven to be the correct one. Now get back to whatever you do to "evaluate" QBs. I told you so! Ha, ha, ha ... You cannot deny it. I told you Sanchez would be done and he is.
Say it JUNC!!!!! Say it JUNC!! Say I was correct and you were wrong. Here I'll type it for you. You can quote it or cut and paste:
FinfanInBuffalo was correct all along about Sanchez and I (nyjunc) was horribly wrong. Sanchez is done, just like I was told.
