CB Jaire Alexander getting cut

Miami needs to stop being a retirement community team. Too many old guys come to Miami to collect a final pay check before retirement.

That is a major flaw in Miami’s team building strategy and design.

Stop this nonsense already.

Get young UDFA guys and let them show you what they can do. Prove it guys. Not old haggard guys.
He's injury prone, not old. He's 28

We need a corner badly but the money and constant injuries are red flags. He reportedly wouldn’t compromise on salary with GB. I doubt we’d be as accommodative as even GB was in terms of money.

I assume we’d want him in a “prove it” mode and that doesn’t seem to be his mindset.

That's good for our team, as far as I'm concerned. - LOL

Well we need someone. Some vet who can start abd have a positive attitude. Gilmore and Samuel I would sign both.
I'm anticipating a post mini camp shopping trip to Cornerbacks-R-Us for C. Grier. Get a good look at what we currently have in a more competitive Mini-Camp setting and then go get one if not two vets for training camp.

Alexander is a possibility, although not anytime soon.

First off, he'll need to linger as a free agent for awhile... get lowball offers...

After a few weeks/months of this, he'll likely start thinking more reasonably. Then, if we still have a need... maybe.
BINGO!

this just muddy's the water getting Ramsey out.. if there was any interest we should have had the trade ready June 1

Yes and no brother. Do you want an injured player or one a little older but has been healthier? If I am a championship caliber team I am taking Jalen. Miami just can’t get too greedy.

Just imagine if you get Alexander who somehow stays healthy and have a reconciliation with Ramsey, how would people feel about the defense then?

A guy can dream I suppose but we are likely to see Cam Smith and Storm Duck starting at CB this year.

Miami Dolphins

Alexander was elite throughout the 2022 season. The former Louisville standout recorded a career-high five interceptions en route to his second Pro Bowl appearance and Second-Team All-Pro nod. His defensive coordinator that year was Joe Barry, who is now a defensive assistant coach with the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins should also be in the market for a veteran cornerback. They're expected to trade Jalen Ramsey before training camp begins. Ramsey's inevitable departure will leave DC Anthony Weaver with Storm Duck, Cam Smith, Artie Burns, and Jason Marshall Jr. as his in-house options at boundary corner. Alexander would immediately step into a starting role.
