Chris Clemons- A Must Sign?

Chris Clemons is a must cut. Talk about an underachiever. Has he ever made an interception. Maybe 1? I'd rather have Don Jones back there, at least he'd lay the wood on the guy. Or Jimmy Wilson...see ya Clemons. time to go play for a softer team than us, if you can find one.

LOL, that was funny. Nothing worth considering but, funny.

We really need a rangy safety back there with jones.. Clemmons fits the bill. I just wish he didnt have stones for hands

Must sign? Nope.

Can easily let him sign elsewhere and draft Calvin Pryor or Jimmie Ward in the 1st.

I don't know about a Must sign but he was our best safety last year. I say bring him back, but at the right price.

Gosh! How much did R.Jones suck this season? Geez, how do you play that badly after a big pay day?

If Im not mistaken, Jones was used differently last year then the year before. He's not good in coverage, he's basically a LB playing safety. Hopefully Coyle corrects this next season.

This is one of the rare situations where we all seem to agree - Chris Clemons is OK but he's not a must signing and not a top priority among the Free Agents. In a way, Ireland decision to give him just a one year deal last year was keeping the options open.

Remember, Aponte is the contract negotiator. I get the feeling that all those one year deals are her doing.

I wouldn't mind seeing him re-signed. Unless you can get Byrd from Buffalo, I'd try to sign him.

He's an average, steady player, but that's ok right now. Did a fine job last year, re-sign him for around $3-4 mil per year. We have bigger holes on the team (entire o-line, replace Wheeler at OLB), so to spend big $$/high picks on a safety isn't very smart at this point.

He is a good player and he won't be expensive. Unless we have someone waiting to take over for him or we pick someone up in FA, he is a must sign. We have too many other holes to address to just let a good player walk.

All focus must be on the OL.

He's a perfect signing for a 8-8 team. Guy is the very definition of average but he looks adequate because we have Jones playing next to him who is awful. If we hope to ever compete with the San Fran's and Seattles of the league we should be looking to replace players like Clemons, not signing them to long term deals.

not a must sign but a very underrated player not a star but causes no issues. Sign him up, 3 years 12 million

That's about he most I'd be ok with paying him. We need depth at safety. I'd like to pick up another one in the draft. If/when he beats out Clemons, great. Until then he is a solid starter.
