Does anyone remember the OC literally walk out of the stadium on the Dolphins last game of Flores's first season? And Patrick Graham being let go on a lateral move to NYG? Flores's relationships with his assistants was terrible.
The result counts the same in the record book, but I think it’s hard to argue a Sunday 1 pm home game win over the Panther/Giants/Raiders being as important or counting the same as a December primetime game vs the Bills for the division at home, or on the road vs a good defense in the cold weather. Context matters, it’s a lot easier to perform in the first set of conditions than the the 2nd and should be judged accordingly imo.also i wanna add to his view, we lose alot of games in dec/ jan that are more important??? no.. no there not more important in the regular season.. a wins a win regardless of the month.
the only wins late in the year that are more important are playoff wins, and flores didn't have any of them did he. no
people need to stop with this notion that a win in dec means more then one in sept.. there are the exact same weighting in the win loss bracket .
does it matter if say the ravens next year dont win a single game xmas or later if they go on to win it all.. no, and infact in that situation the sept wins were worth more cause thats what gets them into the playoffs.
in short all wins are equal, the month that you got the wins means dick. all that matters is theres enough of those wins to get you to the post season.. it has no extra meaning on when you got those wins, all that matter sis you friccin did
but then reverse that a sept prime time game vs bills over a dec sunday 1pm game right?..The result counts the same in the record book, but I think it’s hard to argue a Sunday 1 pm home game win over the Panther/Giants/Raiders being as important or counting the same as a December primetime game vs the Bills for the division at home, or on the road vs a good defense in the cold weather. Good point, and those September wins McDaniels first year vs the Ravens and Bills back to back counted just as much in my eyes as the game we won to clinch the playoffs that year.but then reverse that a sept prime time game vs bills over a dec sunday 1pm game right?..
its not the time of the game that matters in this situation, its the quality of the opponent your beating, if you get me?
OHHHH yeeeeh, man that was a sweet 2 weeks.Good point, and those September wins McDaniels first year vs the Ravens and Bills back to back counted just as much in my eyes as the game we won to clinch the playoffs that year.
Yea but they only didn’t beat teams with a winning record in the regular season, in the postseason when it mattered they beat the 10-6 Vikings 11-5 Bucs and 13-3 Titans to win the Super Bowl, and those were the Cris Carter/Randy Moss/Randall Cunningham Vikings and the core of the Bucs team that won with Gruden the next year, plus the Air McNair Titans so def no slouches. They stepped up when it mattered, let’s hope our boys have the same trajectoryOHHHH yeeeeh, man that was a sweet 2 weeks.
but I mean in some cases I am sure it was st louis rams with warner, could be wrong they didnt beat a single over .500 team and went on to win the bowl, in end as long as you make playoffs it doesnt really matter who you beat to get there, as long as you bring it in the post season when it counts.. now I agree wins like you stated are better in the sense it proves to yourself as a team you can beat these big teams.. but in the end regular season be damn on who you did and didn't beat, if you don't bring it in the play offs
hell we have a prime example as fins fans, marinos fins beating the bears 1985. only loss of there season and we smashed em, to then go on to lose in a game we were heavy favorites in the division championship vs the pats I believe
but thats what i mean, in end as long as you get there dont matter how you did, as long as you turn up in the playoffsYea but they only didn’t beat teams with a winning record in the regular season, in the postseason when it mattered they beat the 10-6 Vikings 11-5 Bucs and 13-3 Titans to win the Super Bowl, and those were the Cris Carter/Randy Moss/Randall Cunningham Vikings and the core of the Bucs team that won with Gruden the next year, plus the Air McNair Titans so def no slouches. Agreed, was just stating that eventually you gotta beat some good teams can’t just beat up on snowflakes all year. There are tons of pretender teams that have great regular seasons by beating up on some turds and then get ass blasted when they play a real team in the playoffs (looking at you Dallas Cowboys)but thats what i mean, in end as long as you get there dont matter how you did, as long as you turn up in the playoffs
That might be the simplest, yet most cogent line anyone on this board has ever written. Well done!If we are fixing culture still 5 years in or whatever it is we got the wrong folks in charge
That’s why I was confused with them saying it’s time to finally invest resources into fixing the oline, and then you half ass it by addressing the staters but having some of, if not the worst depth in the league. If they don't fix the OL, specifically the depth, which is currently ZERO, it's going to just be a replay of last year. Someone always gets hurt, it's just the nature of the game.

How Eich is still on this team speaks volumes to the incompetence of this organization. The guy sucks. Period. That’s why I was confused with them saying it’s time to finally invest resources into fixing the oline, and then you half ass it by addressing the staters but having some of, if not the worst depth in the league.
I think it’s crazy to rely on injury prone guys like Jackson and Daniels to stay healthy all year especially when they are both coming off season ending injuries. It’s a house of cards ready to fall apart the moment we have to rely on Eich and Borom, and it didn’t need to be like that. We had better options both in FA and the draft for depth
