Coaching Candidate Tracker

If we hired Vance or another defensive guy, I would agree with you. But if we kept Flores, we would never have a decent offensive coaching staff. Hiring one of these 3 offensive guys, at least gives us a chance at improving our offense.
I agree that Flores failed to create a competent offensive staff but the known candidates are just coordinators that either have a good qb or work under an offensive minded head coach. It’s another half measure where it seems we want to keep our defensive staff and hire a separate offensive staff. That isn’t going to work. We need ab experienced head coach that can bring in a solid staff. Daboll and McDobbie can **** off imo

Do any of you have this feeling that all of the head coaching candidates this year are subpar?? The vibe on these guys seem underwhelming. 🤷‍♂️

So Harbaugh just lost his DC who helped turn that defense around and looks like Josh McDaniels is being targeted by the Raiders. If Harbaugh had any sense he would pick up the phone and talk to Ross.
His star will be no brighter, loses his DC and all that DLine talent? Back to getting shredded by OSU.

Moore and McDaniel have bright futures. The rest are either retreads or ehhh hit or miss. I don't want a coach whose ceiling is Jeff Fisher.

Yes and no, the coordinators? Yes but when you have three former coaches out their that know what it takes to get to the promised land then that is not a bad pool to choose from. I mean Pederson is shocking to me. He really must have the stink on him. I don’t think I have ever seen a coach with a SB ring not get picked up.

Problem is that all the experienced HCs we have interviewed were defensive guys (Quinn, Frazier, VJ). You could argue that we should have interviewed the offensive experienced HCs like Pederson and Harbaugh. Maybe we tried and they weren't interested. Or maybe our leadership is just stupid. That always is a possibility.

My head coach pool only consists of 3 people: Caldwell, Pederson and Harbaugh. In that order. And since it seems that none of those guys are in play, pretty much anyone outside of that group is going to be a disappointment to me.

I said in another thread, I heard from someone very close to situation that I know that harbaugh is heavily involved with Minnesota

It’s going to be either Harbaugh or McDaniel. Harbaugh hasn't left Michigan yet because national signing day is next week.

Ross and Grier are too soft to deal with any of those three. Jim Harbaugh once told the 49ers owner that he wasn’t allowed in team meetings because the meetings were for men only.

Of course not it will be after. He also let his brother have his DC.
Nope. Recruits could get out of their LoI if the coach leaves so him staying until after NSD makes zero difference because it's not like he's tricking those kids into locking into Michigan.

If he was going to leave, the recruiting timelines would have zero impact on that decision.
