Besides, this is a major business decision. I dont think serious business people make hasty decisions based on what the fan base thinks.

Jordan, Dallas Thomas, and Egnew are a few off the top of my head. You want a link to my opinion? Link

I asked for a link to an actual story not to your opinion.

Egnew has been reported to be a Philbin pick. As much as I hate to reference Omar but he reported it on the Jorge Sedano Show. LINK

Jordan you are making up. No way he does not fit our system or Philbin didn't want him. Unless we consider a 6'6" DE/OLB who runs a 4.5 40 that can rush the passer as well as cover the TEs a bad fit......

Dallas Thomas isn't playing bad because of the system. hes not playing well because hes having trouble making the transition to the NFL. Lights may turn on or maybe they wont but it wont be because of the system we run.

Yeah, I really don't care what you asked for. I gave my opinion on the relationship between Ireland and Philbin based on what I have seen and you ask for a link. :bobdole: Well, I gave you one. And go ahead and take Omar's "investigation" and opinion over mine.

But hey, maybe you're right. Egnew, Jordan, and Thomas are all great fits. Too great, in fact. It just wouldn't be fair to the rest of the league to play them more often.

So no real actual facts or clues to back your theory. Great job =)

Maybe Jeff can't sign Grimes. Maybe he has had that power removed, pending end of the season results.

Actually, I've given quite a few. Not my fault if you can't understand what you are reading through your aqua and orange glasses.

With all due respect Gonzo you have presented ZERO facts/links/sources on how and or why they don't get along.

Here is one example.

I guess in this case, I'm the source. I was sitting about 10 feet away from him when he was responding to the question. Not sure if that is close enough to be considered a "source." Sorry if I'm no Omar.

Believe what you want to believe Bubba. I've given my opinion, take it or leave it. Obviously, you choose the latter, based on no facts, links, or sources of your own. Except Omar, of course. You can probably find a PR or something from the Dolphins explaining how well they work together, and we know how reliable PRs are. As for why they don't work well together, well, I guess we'd need a psychologist for that, wouldn't we?

Are you really expecting a link in which either Philbin or Ireland comes out and says "hey, I can't work with that guy!"? Really?

First off there is no reason to make this personal. My name is NOT buba I don't wear Aqua and orange glasses I'm just trying to gather what information you may or maynot have. From your responses it is painfully obvious you don't have any information to back any of your claims so we can just end this here.

Bubba is just a general term, used fairly often as a term of endearment by my namesake (usernamesake?). Nothing personal meant by it. As for the glasses, it's quite clear that's exactly what you are looking through, as you are unwilling to accept any opinion or statement made by anybody that doesn't support what you want to hear.

And it doesn't end here. It ends in a couple months. See ya then. :d-day:

That's kind of how discussions work, right? People have different opinions and discuss their viewpoints. I could make a blanket statement like "you deny all the bad" too I suppose, but I don't think that's the case.

Anyways, where have I denied all the good? He has made some very good moves. Grimes, Wake, etc. Hell, I'll even give him credit for attempting to bring in a legitimate star receiver, though that has yet to pan out. And he FINALLY addressed THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN FOOTBALL (sorry, it's not LT). I give him a lot of credit for that. He certainly understands the game more than the dummies we had before him (I seem to remember having these discussions when they were on the brink of being fired too). Unfortunately, he's also made some horrible ones. I believe you have been a big critic of the offensive line. Who built that line? Who drafted Martin (you were no doubt against that draft pick, right?)? Who kept one of the dirtiest players in the NFL with multiple on and off the field issues? Who drafted a thug for a center who is rumored to have been running guns and is close friends with an alleged murdering thug? Who has been fine with John "Ben &" Jerry despite constant weight issues? Who brought in Clabo (I don't mark him off much for that though because nobody saw a decline of the magnitude we have in that turd)? And who created almost no depth behind all of them?

He's constantly a reactive GM. He only addresses a position when it's a huge need outside of the DL, which is for some reason the only unit he's proactive with. He's also completely failed to add depth to any position outside of the defensive line. I had a hard time telling if you were posting that list of players in support of firing or keeping Ireland, because it could really go either way. But we could go back and forth on what each of consider talent, and we have many times in the past, so let's skip it and move on to one of the main reasons I think he needs to be fired:

It is abundantly clear that he and Philbin simply cannot work together. Ireland drafts players and signs free agents that may be talented, but simply do not fit the scheme Philbin and Co. are implementing, and he doesn't give a ****. He's going to continue drafting and signing whoever the hell he wants. I want a GM and coach that can work together and build a winning team. We do not have that. One or both of them need to go, and I'm willing to bet it's Ireland.

The problem is that Ireland doesn't get credit for Wake unless you make him the actual GM/decision maker before 2011. There's always a double standard. Ask any Ireland defender to name Jeff's good moves and the first thing on the list is always Wake. Then if you counter with bad moves they come back with the bull**** proven wrong nonsense about Parcells making all the decisions through 2010.

Actually, he does. And there's a reason you don't.

Good point. I've always considered him partially responsible for pre-2011 moves. I just have a tough time with the thought of somebody being paid a good amount of money to do absolutely nothing and have zero responsibility.

He had final say over the roster from the beginning, and in any case said that he and Below Parcells almost never disagreed.

Outside of making (and winning) the super bowl, you fire Ireland at the END of the season. As much as I hate the guy as our GM, I think this team has had enough distractions during the regular season and firing the GM during a potential playoff run does not accomplish anything appreciably positive for this team.
