More negative news about the Phins. All I know is that if he is over his injuries and returns to the form he had with the Titans, he will be worth the contract. Now that is a big if.:idk:

This year, one name has already started to bubble to the top of questionable signings. Miami added cornerback Cortland Finnegan to the roster on Friday, providing the secondary with a former Pro Bowl talent to pair opposite 2013 Pro Bowl selection Brent Grimes. The problem is, that "former" word dates back to 2008. Since then, Finnegan has fallen from Pro Football Focus' second highest rated cornerback in the league (2010, behind Darrelle Revis) to the 109th ranked player out of 110 this past season. (Coincidentally, Grimes was the second best cornerback in the league, according to PFF, again behind Revis.)

Who cares what they think. A pretty high percent of all free agents will not live up to expectations. We shall see.

I don't care what I read negatively about the Fins as long as he is capable this season I'll be okay with it.

I don't think he got a huge deal and you have plenty of cap room. if he recaptures any of his past play he could be big for you. lower risk gamble.

Hickey has always been a big fan of him, tried to get him in TB.

My biggest issue with this is why did we have to give him a 2 year 11 mill deal? No one was going to give him that, I'd assume he sees next to nothing until he makes the roster, but still, we havnt even brought in another cb as insurance yet, and we need one.

I'd assume hickey really believes the injuries were the problem. But fisher loves cortland, and I'd assume if he thought the injuries were the problem, he would be back with fisher.

Just have to wait and see. Been waiting on those contract details.

If Finnegan had signed with the Pats it would have been a tremendous signing for them with no downside.

I said the same thing, low risk higher reward type signing. Do I think he is going to be all pro again, I don't know, depends on a lot of things but I do know if he stays healthy he isn't going to be any worse than anything we had paired with Grimes last season.

this has kevin coyle written all over it...finnegan and delmas...well if he wanted some reclamation projects he's sure got em...

How is any signing bad before they actually line up and play the game? Former Pro-bowler coming off an injured season signs a prove it deal, lol and that's a bad signing. Only in Miami, if this is NE it's a stroke of genius. Frustrating!

The best part is the media still tries to pull that "patriots way" crap even after Hernandez.

He had one bad season lol would you rather have a Nolan carrol or a Patterson who's never had seasons as good as finnegan or would you rather have someone like finnegan who you know atleast has the potential to be a top tier corner? He's showed that he could be shutdown so why can't he do it again. Grimes was injured the year before and came in to be a top corner in the league. Only difference is that grimes sat out the year and finnegan played. His injury lead to him having a horrible year. From what I hear all his money is guaranteed this year with a high salary next year with no cap hit next year in case he plays bad. I'd like to sign Patterson or maybe Jabari Greer to a semi cheap deal.

Maybe my eyes tricked me, but Patterson looked really impressive last year when he played.
