Cortland Finnegan rated among worst FA moves

You know somebody should mention we drafted 2 db's last season, so the move to bring in a vet actually means we have good depth at the position. We do still have davis and taylor going into their second year.

Ha, I don't think anyone even remembers that. Both got injured, sad thing :j.

It is definitely not a good one in my opinion but oh well. I would have given that money to Cromartie that can't seem to find a job at the moment, and is going to sign with Arizona to compete against Mattheiu for a starting job. Hell I rather have given a one year deal to Asante Samuel.

Pretty sure Gibson was too last year according to this site.

More negative news about the Phins. All I know is that if he is over his injuries and returns to the form he had with the Titans, he will be worth the contract. Now that is a big if.[/url]

MIA is paying Finnegan an average salary for a DB who is no longer under a rookie contract.

If Finnegan can return to 90% or better of his 2011 form, which is hardly guaranteed, then this contract is a steal.

If Fennigan can stay healthy and play NB, then this is a reasonable contract.

If Finnegan get injured again like 2013, then the contract is a bust.

I am sure MIA did their due diligence as to Finnegan's health. They appear to have slightly overpaid for a NB and rolled the dice Finnegan can play CB at a high level again.

In an interview he says he is 100% healthy. He was a pro bowl talent in 2012. Does he have a career threatening injury we don't know about?
Some of you act as if he is suspended for the 1st 4 games of the season.....oh wait

You have to consider what you get from Finnegan. Will you get him circa 2008? No. If you get a healthy player then you get a guy who can certainly contribute to the team on the field. Even if he isn't healthy, or is done physically, you get a guy with quality experience to help mentor the younger DBs. There's value in that.

It's definitely a questionable move. I can't understand why fans would think that everyone has to be in love with this move. I can see both sides of the argument in that he is low risk/high reward however the signing was a bit of a head scratcher for me. I'd love to know what other teams were interested in him or if we were bidding against ourselves.

We just need to prey that cortlands injury was why he was so bad last year.

Because if that's the real cortland, he won't even be able to get on the field. Hickey better know something we don't. I'm preying he didn't overpay for this guy based on his man crush on cortland from a few years ago when he tried to sign him in TB.

Oh if only the patriots had signed him. then it'd be the great BB is going to get CF back to his old TN self and a pro bowl season outta him.

lookin for jamar taylor impact this year. Finnegan will give us some fight for awhile, but wear down. the rooks are getting PT this year.

If Finnegan had signed with the Pats it would have been a tremendous signing for them with no downside.

Yep. And if the Fins had signed Revis to the contract that the pats did, we would have been overpaying.
