Coyle trying to inject emotion and enthusiasm into defense

In today's day and age of parity, emotion is an edge, and there are different ways to give that to a team. Anyone remember the "Shula Stare?" If I'm a player, that stare is much worse than any coach's coming at me and yelling Just a look was all he needed..

then, there was Cog vs the Jets. He had a ton of emotion, and it carried over to the team.

I agree with Coyle being on the field. I believe it's much more effective for players to have the DC there in person to make corrections and adjustments.

Wake is a DE so you would only double him if the play were going to him or around end. Otherwise, there is no need. But Soliai would crush any inside run without a double team.

If you force the offense to always run wide, that will be a major problem for most running teams. They tend to make the runs up the middle their bread and butter.
And while Wake is a monster in the pass rush, he can be handled by one blocker usually on run plays. He isn't that big and nowhere near as strong as Soliai.

Oh just run plays.. Watch the second half of last season again Paul was singled a lot vs the run. That allowed the guard to jump to Ellerbe quick last year

it's absurd to bench the only qb worth a damn in the building for hot garbage but if you can't see it i can't help you...the league would laugh at miami for that kind of decision...yeah this head coach was so considering benching it's qb and was telling potential gm candidates that that they didn't even draft one when they had 7 rounds of picks to do so and the closest competition in house has been a career backup nor did they explore any vet free agents at the position...use your brain spesh...

Im sorry Hoops, i dont see a link in there. Sounds like a whole lot of speculation you got going on in that post. By all means, if you have information showing that Philbin never has and never will consider benching Tannehill under any circumstances whatsoever, please link it. As i think Tannehill is a hell of a lot more important to our future than Philbin, I'd love to read it.

And did you pay any attention to our general manager search? The league already laughs at us. Throwing a player under the bus to save a job is one of the situations coaches and general managers around the league would understand, screwing the players over is a time honored tradition in the NFL. You know, unless that history doesnt exist under the golden rule of "i dont want it to".
I did get a laugh at the Matt Moore career backup shot. I mean, its not like Matt Moore has ever been used as a stop gap and was inserted into a starting lineup in order to try and save a coaches job after their chosen "franchise" quarterback had failed to improve. Its not like Matt Moore has ever been in that situation while wearing a Dolphins uniform. Tony Sparano and Chad Henne both agree thats never happened. :sidelol:

Anyways, i'll be waiting for the links disputing the Philbin-saving-his-skin report...oh wait.

ha ha la canfora is credible i take it

this is the same clown that also dropped the mike wallace is on the trade block crap...

I forgot one of those reports came from Jason La Canfora, nerdrage eruption over the insidious media conspiracy that totally for reals exists in 3...2...1...

I personally get a kick out of those who take it one step farther: If we didnt trade ____ then not only was La Canfora lying, but that means hes been lying about everything hes ever reported in his entire career.

La Canfora must be essential for the conspiracy to turn fans against the Dolphins in order for people to keep giving him paychecks. But then again, as i dont think the media is out to get the second most average team in the league, im totally falling for the conspiracy, so what do i know?

ha ha...you should really polish your game up...matt moore only got his chance after chad henne landed on his shoulder and was lost for the season...injury was the only reason...

I don't recall Soliai being singled on run plays much at all last year. Are there any games in particular I should look at again? This would surprise me.

An dislocated shoulder to his non-throwing arm that Henne wanted to play through. He only went through with some surgery after Sparano made it clear Moore was getting the nod. At that point we were 0-4. This was after the offseason in which we pursued multiple quarterbacks so they could provide competition at the quarterback position. Henne undoubtedly took those moves and statements seriously since he had been benched in the past.

...Oh wait, i forgot to put that in terms that go along with your predetermined opinion, let me adjust the post: after enduring a potentially career ending injury in which Henne was given every opportunity to return from, our offensive coordinator and general manager reluctantly made a change as the head coach stoically looked on while not hovering around or standing to far away. This was after an offseason in which our general manager and offensive coordinator made absolutely no attempts at signing competition for the starter, because that would be laughable and they totally use their brains, and were forced to sign Matt Moore in order to fill out the bottom of the roster. Dan Henning's previous benching of Henne for Pennington never happened, the media only reported it because they hate us and our fans would know the truth if they ever came to games and didnt spend all their time walking out of Heat games lolololololol.

Sounds legit, we should re-hire Sparano, he was unfairly blamed for things that the media and Ireland were responsible for.

wanted to play thru a dislocated wing that required surgery huh??? i'm sure any player if asked would try and say he could play thru it...i think mark buttfumble even tried that when he blew his out last year...as if that would have ever worked...lmao...just stop spesh...drop this stuff somewhere else...this isn't you a soccer mom having your shoulder pop in and out every once in a while...

and what does henne being benched for penny have to do with matt moore which is what part of what your all shot full of holes argument was about to begin with???

instead of dropping balloons you should be dropping :bricks:

I want to know what Tannehill has proven to warrant untouchable status? If he's still playing to a low 80's passer rating, still missing wide open receivers for easy TDs, still taking a **** load of sacks and still displaying horrible end of game management then he absolutely deserves to be benched.

Does Bill Belichick go nutty on the sidelines? Did Tom Landry? Shula?

You don't have to be a rah rah guy, or a red-faced yeller to be a good NFL coach.....but you need to put your best players on the field, in a position to make plays, and as a coach, you need emotion to come from somewhere....Which is why I really want to see Tanny get a little more aggressive on the sidelines. I wouldn't be surprised if the comments in that story were at least partially leveled at Ryan Tannehill.

This is a very important year for Philbin, they need at least 9 wins for him to be 100% secure for 2015. Another 8-8 year and you have to start wondering if it's time to move on. Unless they go 8-8 cuz Tanny goes down and your playing with Devlin or something like that.

Why the hell are people bitching about Sparano, Henning, Henne, and Pennington in a thread about defense???
