I also see a lot of busts.

Yatil Green
Kellen Winslow
Santana Moss
Jeremey Shockey
Ken Dorsey

And I could name about 5-7 others schools who have produced as many STARS in the NFL as Miami
Shockey isn't a bust, he hasn't played long enough to be called a bust.
Winslow hasn't played a down yet, if he can get on the field he would do fine.
Moss isn't a bust maybe I should clarify a bust.

in order to be a bust you must not do anything good in the NFL while being a high pick and being in the league for 3 or 4 years.

back to the subject...

Moss wasn't used properly his first 2 years and then when he was he got over 1,000 yards. how is he a bust?

LOL this made me laugh outloud

Santana Moss has had a few good seasons so he is not a bust

Kellen Winslow is an idiot but he has not played due to injuries ... so thats wrong

Ken Dorsey ... was a 7th round pick so how could he be a bust

Yatil Green .. I agree

Shockey is overrated not a bust ...

Lets list the good ones shall we

Warren Sapp
Ray Lewis
Dan Morgan
Clinton Portis
Willis Mcgahee (spelling?)
Reggie Wayne
Ed James
Andre Johnson
Philip Buchanon
Jeremy Shockey ( overrated but good)
Bryan Mckinnie (spelling?)

Name me another team that has had more 1st round picks .. everyone in the league knows that UM players are more football ready due to their system and their conditioning programs .. by the way name me the the 5-7 programs with a list of players who compare to miami .. sorry but u sound like a hater

.... come on - you mentioned Ken Dorsey?

Talk 1st and 2nd rounders..

this is so silly. this is like saying Pitt is the reason marino was so good at such a young age. Thats not true. A player being good right out of the gates is all due to his work ethic. Are you going to tell me Miami of Ohio is the reason Big Ben was dominant last year?

vilma is a hell of a lb me being a die hard canes fan also i watched him alot and he was really good i think crowder can be just as good if not better.

Is that so? Here's a short list:
Michael Irvin
Edgerrin James
Vinny Testaverde
Jim Kelly
Bernie Kosar
Willis McGahee
Clinton Portis
Ed Reed
Warren Sapp
Ray Lewis

I didn't include young players (such as Jonathan Vilma, Antrel Rolle, DJ Williams) who I think will be dominant only because they haven't done enough in the league to show greatness yet. I'm not saying Miami is the only good program in college football, but it's not a coincidence that we're near the top in first round draft picks. I named only ten (out of God knows how many) people to have played at UM, feel free to name 10 from 5-7 other programs. USC, Florida, FSU, Oklahoma come to mind, but like Miami, they run a "pro" kind of program. That was my original point, Miami prepares their athletes as well as, if not better than, any other school in the country.

I had Vilma and Crowder rated about equally coming out of college. Crowder's size and strength gave him more potential, but Vilma was more polished.

Lets not get carried away here.. Vilma is only a tiny bit bigger and probably a step faster (4.54 at the combine last year I forget what channing got.)... Vilma was a much better college player and a 3 year starter where channing only got 2 and change. I think he has the potential to be better than Vilma but not for a year or 2. Remember he is very young also.

That is outright ridiculous. Vilma was a premier pick on merit and Crowder lagged into the 3rd not just based on injuries. Vilma is much quicker and more instinctive, a far superior open field tackler. Heck, just a better athlete. That is the defining characteristic time and again. Vilma would NEVER run right past the play without a clue like Crowder did on one blitz up the middle last night.

Crowder is overcoming his injuries and looks less stiff than he did last year at Gainesville. No one questions his motor or hitting ability or frame. He can also play inside or out. But he is no Jonathan Vilma, just like in time it will be proven Ronnie Brown is no Cadillac Williams.
