Darlington: Dolphins players and front office people confused with Ireland's plan

ross get rid of this guy, he is running your business into the ground

I'm not agreeing with all of Ireland's moves but signing Marshall who is Prob a top 10 free agent this yr was a ggreat signing solai is a good signing also, much better than signing Langford. Hicks is prob a waste of money and garrard will be a nice backup unless he beats out Moore. I do not blame irand for not signing manning or Flynn. Manning wasn't going to play for us because we couldn't give him bronco money. Flynn is prob another feeley, not a definite. Alex smith? Don't think he's worth 8 million plus I think they want to groom their own qb, tannehill.

Well you tell everyone you're keeping Yeremiah Bell, that his a tough competitor and one of your key guys...then you wait till the Jets sign thier safety and Cincy re-signs Nelson and release Bell so he has no where to go...yeah, Ireland has a bad reputation and it's only getting worse. That's not the way you do business.

So true....This is what makes me wonder about Ireland.

Shame on some of you "fans" for defending him....Are you kidding me!!! Did anyone ever think he doesnt have a plan and is just signing guys for the hell of it and collecting his paycheck at the end of day? He doesnt care about this franchise nor the fans.

To be fair, it's not often that you find a guy as big as Soliai with his speed and athleticism. I think he could be an absolute terror in a 4-3 rushing the passer. Richard Marshall could be a great move provided he is playing FS as well. I completely agree with the vast majority of your post, though.

Doesn't it get old defending multiple moves with the line " I think player X could be good given the right circumstance".

here is ross' plan to upgrade the stadium.

You don't see the plan?

Is the plan not clear as day?

Go after big splash A Fisher, falls through; so you fall back on a hungry assistant coach Philbin which is probably a blessing in disguise.

QB Plan:

A. Manning...falls through....B. Try to bring in Flynn at low price to compete with Moore, and bridge gap to rookie QB coming in, in case we can't get one we want this year.

C. all of the above with Alex Smith, D. all of the above with Garrard.

Manning was the only real way we'd be SB Contenders this year, any other QB signifies a slight rebuild, or at least retooling.

With that comes hard decisions like letting Carey walk and cutting Bell. You know why they probably cut Bell too right? I've seen many articles talking about how they might need to restructure his deal. Maybe they were trying to do this and Bell's agent said no, so they said bye.

As for an anonymous player not knowing the plan, and us getting verbally thrashed by Joey Porter who the **** cares. Porter is salty because they didn't resign him when they knew he was too old to be productive. Fact is, it was a smart move. Heads roll in business. Ask any employee who has been fired how they feel about their boss.

Btw, Warren Sapp is an idiot and I can't take him seriously at all, if you ever watch Inside the NFL you'll know what I mean.

This is shock journalism at its finest, it is how Darlington got to his position, as for those "anonymous" sources, I really have trouble trusting it. If you've ever watched season 5 of the Wire or know anything about journalism and its current plights you'd understand why.

Agreed. I'm not buying any of this crap....."A Dolphins player text me" from Darlington.....yea right....:rolleyes2: If we start this season at 0-3 or 0-4, then I want someones head on a plate. Otherwise, I will give Philbin and his new coaching staff time to work with these players and build a contender.

I don't believe texts are confidential. Why doesn't Darlington just let us know what FO people and what players are texting him questioning the Fins GM.

I respect Darlington but this is just irresponsible journalism on his part.

Why would the front office not know what Ireland's plan is? There's no way he's working as his own boss and is doing everything only he wants.

I got a better question for you, why the **** would he tell the team's draft strategy to people who text Jeff Darlington that kind of stuff?

GMs don't tell players the plan, it becomes obvious after a while. Our players are confused because of what we've been doing, just like the fans.

Ireland's reputation started going downhill in 2009 when he asked Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute. That's just stupidity at it's finest.

yep...

Funny I see a lot of people that just last week claimed Darlington was the only reporter they trust and worth z damn bashing him now.
