Suh´s numbers.
only year two is awful. years 4-6 not guaranteed.
Base salary:
2015: $985,000 (guaranteed)
2016: $23.5 million (guaranteed)
2017: $10 million (guaranteed)
2018: $17 million (non-guaranteed)
2019: $19 million (non-guaranteed)
2020: $8.36 million (non-guaranteed)
Cap hit:
2015: $6.1 million
2016: $28.6 million
2017: $15.1 million
2018: $22.1 million
2019: $24.1 million
2020: $8.36 million
This information IS NOT correct. The numbers only add up to $104.285M. That's a bout $10M short of the $114M deal. I'm assuming you pulled this from Chris Perkins article in the Sentinel & he royally screwed up that article & numbers.. The base salary for the final year of the deal is $18.36M NOT $8.36M.
First off he jacked up this paragraph & the math:
"His deal includes a $25.5 million signing bonus, and base salaries of $985,000 (2016), $23.485 million (2017), $9.985 million (2018), $16.985 million, $18.985 million (2019), and $8.36 million (2020)."
He started off with the 2016 base salary which should be 2015, 2017 should be 2016, 2018 should be 2017, & the undated one should be 2018. Because of this error it causes him to make a false statement in the next paragraph:
"Suh's salaries are guaranteed for the first three years of his deal, and $8.5 million of his $9.9 million fourth-year salary is guaranteed if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the league year."
$25.5 million (signing bonus), $985,000 (2015), $23.485 million (2016), $9.985 million (2017) = $59.955M the guaranteed portion of his contract.
