I switched back to cable as well. The problem I had with the service was the poor reception during stormy weather which happens a lot in south Florida.
You get no credit for disruptive service. I complained to them and told them to install the biggest and baddest dish they have. They installed it, but it was only slightly better.
To top it all off, when I finally decided to sever the service after my contract was expired, I asked them up front what the final payment would be and when it would be due.
I paid the "Final" fee, and low and behold I got another bill after returning my equipment.
They threatened to put it into collections if I didn't pay. What a bunch of thieves. I paid the additional fee. They will never get another dollar from me.
The reception on the HDTV set up actually seems worse than it was years ago. I have had DirecTV on and off for years and usually have had good reception. However, it goes out during storms here in Texas, which aren't as bad as South Florida, IMO. Either way, I need to negotiate the price for the Ticket as I'm not paying retail but definitely want it.
