It looked like the exact replica of last year's team. Anyone agree?

Other thoughts:

No running game to speak of, O-Line looked slightly below average at best overall (I think that is being kind). WR play was solid (as it was last year), and it was good to see Boston get out there especially.

Defensive Line was the quite possibly the worst performance I have seen in some time, though they did ok versus the run. I won't even get started on the play of the DB and Safeties, how embarassing. We made Orton, Hutchinson, and Grossman look like Marino and Young out there.

It was our first game so the penalties should be expected, though they were alarmingly high.

One request: Can we please, for the love of god, throw some passes that at least gives the THREAT of going deep? The only one that came close was Gus' desperation heave from the end zone.

I realize this is just a pre-season game and most of these guys we won't be watching in September, but I guess I expected a little bit more....

Let's get em next time boys!

No, you watched a meaningless preseason game. The first of five to be exact.

I think that was meant to be rhetorical.... ;)

Well, Saban did say: "Pre-season games are meaningless if you don't win them"

I realize come a few months from now, the last thing we'll be talking about is this game, but I would have liked to seen a little better performance that's all....

It's just you. This was a completely different team out there. This was the very first game this team has played together.

No, you watched our starters and other significant contibutors do the exact same thing they did last year. No difference whatsoever. Not in the playcalling. Not in the penalties. Not in the playmaking. Nothing. But it is the first of a long preseason so I am still optimistic.

If our 3rd and 4th stringers are as good as our first stringers last season, then we have a lot to look foward to.

No major injuries, good work from our rookies, good coaching....that's the most important stuff

Our starters and significant contributors were winning when they left. That'd be different from last year.

Like I have said for some time we are not going to win more than 7 games this season. Preseason or not we played poorly today.

Agree about the injuries and the rookies, but honestly, what was so different about the coaching? Penalties were numerous, the FG try was questionable, and the playcalling was vanilla. We let those QB's pick us apart.

I'm no coach, and I'm sure Saban isnt throwing out all the stops by ANY means, but I didn't see what you saw.

Just a difference of opinion.

This is the line I loved the most....

Why, for the love of God, would Scott Linehan show ANYTHING in this game?

Would you have rathered we throw all our plays out there so the whole damn league knows what's coming when the games matter?

This psychotic overreacting to the results of a preseason game is alarming in my opinion....

Agreed. I think winning tonight, in some ways, would be a lift for the team after going 4-12.

A win, albeit an exhibition win, is better than a loss.

For an exhibition game it wasn't too bad other than our secondary. They are gonna need alot of work before the regular season starts. Thank goodness there is some time for that.
