Would you pull the trigger? Dion obviously did not get the snaps that fans would have liked. But it is obvious the Eagles still want him, and Lane Johnson would have probably made more of a difference this season. Would you pull the trigger on a trade that would bring Lane Johnson to Miami, and the Eagles 22nd pick?

I would not do it. Jordan has flashed enough talent, he just needs to play. He could be a star and a play maker that can impact a game.

Wake is starting to slow down, he is the replacement.

Johnson is potentially a nice player, and one that we need, but our oline can be repaired with a couple FA's to plug holes and drafting wisely going forward.

The problem with that scenario is the eagles didn't want to trade their third round pick to move up one spot so why would they trade their starting RT for a player they like that couldn't start over Derrick Shelby when Wake was out. They are not giving up their 4th pick in draft and number one pick for Jordan. Im not sure they would trade Lane Johnson head up for Jordan.

I would, in a heartbeat, but there's no way they'd offer Johnson and the 22nd overall pick unless they were convinced that Johnson is a total bust.

Which based on what I've seen, he's not.

Who in their right mind wouldn't make that deal.

The reason he didn't start was not because of his ability, but because of Philbins refusal to start him.

If a trade did occur, we would need the exact draft value or more. They want him, not vice versa. they would have to pay a handsome price...like this years 22 and next years 2015 #1.

So Philbin and coyle are just crazy and don't want to start him just for the hell of it. I don't buy it. He played like 40 percent of snaps when wake got hurt but still lost those snaps to Derrick Shelby throughout the season.
If Jordan had played better he would have played more. I don't know why year one he has no problem playing rookies and all of a sudden he wouldn't want to play his three overall. The coaching mentioned his struggles against run and that's why he didn't play more.

Like I said if they wouldn't give up a 3rd rounder last year to move up for him why this year would they want to give up two number ones. Hell you wouldn't give up two number ones for him

I don't get the idea that the coaching staff doesn't like to play rookies. Dion Sims isn't great and he got some playing time. Martin and Tannehill started 16 games last year.

I think it's more likely that these rookies simply aren't very good. Will Davis and Michael Egnew didn't play much as rookies because, get this, they stink.

I don't think Jordan is a bust yet but the staff played him like 40 percent of snaps when Wake first got hurt and started Shelby over him. The staff played him on special teams and made reference to his struggles against run I don't think we need Sccoby Doo to solve this mystery

And you know this for certain how? Maybe Philbin didn't start him because he is a 3-4 outside linebacker who can't play the run, who was drafted into a 4-3 system, and who couldn't make the adjustment to 4-3 defensive end or 4-3 outsider linebacker. Maybe he is just another Jeff Ireland bust. Maybe his inability to play the run is so pronounced that no coach in their right mind would dare put him on the field in a situation where there is more than a 10% chance that the play will be a run. Maybe the critique of the 17 year old kid that spawned 30+ pages of debate on this board was right.

I'm not an expert in player evaluation but I do know one thing. When you are coming off of 4 straight years of losing records you don't use the number three pick in the draft to stockpile a kid for the future at a so-called position of strength. Number three picks in the draft had damn well better start on day one and be a difference maker for the team. Only Dave Wannstache would make a boneheaded move like that (drafting Fletcher when we had Madison and Surtain).

Are you telling me that Shelby is a better player than Jordan? Jordan was a rookie. He is probably was still learning the defense. If Shelby is better, I would trade him for Johnson and the 22 pick. sheesh.

What has Jordan done to prove he is worthy of any trade? He was an average at best pass rusher and horrible....i mean horrible against the run. Threads like this need to stop
