Dion Jordan for Lane Johnson and Eagles 22nd pick?

Can't believe people think the Eagles would even consider that trade. Why the hell would they give up a 1st round pick and a 1st round starter for a Dolphins player that can't even grab a starting role on the team. No way No how would the Eagles do that....and the Dolphins would be very foolish not to take the deal if it were offered.

Just some facts to think about aside from fantasy land here that does nothing but end up bashing our favorite target.

#1. Jordan was a guy all the coaches thought was the guy in this draft that could be bigtime. Ross entered the conference room and asked everyone before the draft. So everyone was onboard with this pick. Not just Jeff Ireland. So Jeff got Joe what he and his cohorts wanted.

#2. Jordan had to finish school and therefore did not get a good start to his career as well as having the small labrum tear that coaches then became very cautious about but still played him since the first game.

#3. It was said during the season that he is not there yet when it comes to stopping the run. This happens to alot of rookie DE's in this league IMO. So they are bulking him up to become a full time player. Jason Taylor had to do this very thing. However, JT never got above 250 lbs. They want him to get bigger and it is apparently already happening.

#4. Shelby was in his second year and clearly learned alot of Wake the year prior and worked hard in the offseason and also to originally make the PS as a rookie. This is how it is in this league. A no name can make a name for himself with hard work and knowhow.

I would add a #5, which would be lets not overvalue Vernon. He got a lot of sacks, but from the eye test and how he grades out on PFF, he wasn't exactly an 11 sack level player. He's a product of being across from Wake, I see people wanting to trade Wake and I think it's crazy.

never seen a first round pick with so many excuses made for him. He may turn out fine but he was our 4th DE in rotation behind Shelby and nothing can dispute that

A lot of people can't make honest evaluations because sentiment gets in the way. The OP is just another case of someone over-valuing players on his favorite team while under-valuing players on every other team. His proposal is no different than every ridiculous trade idea you hear someone call in with on sports talk radio shows all over the country.

Every year we have fans salivating about every pick we make. Hell in 2007 People on this board were raving about how Ted Ginn couldn't be covered by any DB in the NFL, Beck was steal of draft and so on

Trading away a game changer for a replacement filliment are never comparable. The line is the easiest and fastest fix a team can make. Just look at many of the play off teams and see who is winning with multiple injuries on their line.

If the line is so easy to fix then why is it still a problem ? This has been a problem for more than just last year. And Tannenhill has been taking a pounding because of it. And run game sucks. Are you sure your name isn't Jeff Ireland?

So because the Pats won with out Rob Gronkowski, Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo and Sebastian Volmer does that make these parts easily refillable.
Its like when we went undefeated without Bob Griese and rationalizing that Qb is not a big deal/
Game changer is a matter of opinion, that game changer played less than Derrick Shelby on dline so maybe he isn't that awesome a game changer.
Im sure many teams would not trade away a stud olineman for Deon Jordan.

I keep hearing from board experts that oline is not a big deal, runningbacks are a dime a dozen and so on yet we don't have much in these departements.
I remember we signed this so called game changing linebacker named Danell ellerbee because he was so good getting to the qb but yet he got destroyed in the run and got to the qb one time.
That's much better than having linemen that can actually run block and protect the qb. Also im uite glad we spent 60 million on a game changing wr that really didn't change any games. At least we got this game changing De that couldn't even start when Cam Wake went down yay

Nobody is going to trade Dion Jordan. For Lane Johnson, Lane Bryant or anybody! The guy is has been hurt from day one and ia still recovering! We would be lucky if Eagles dropped their #1 to us for him. I would pull trigger in a heartbeat. If that trade ever came about. Bevause I think team would get more value out of it .Im sure we would at least get a guy who had ability to start right out of the gate!

I don't buy he is still recovering. If he was still recovering he would not have been playing special teams. He was given a clean bill of health before season started.
I do agree he is always banged up but Im tired of that being used for an excuse

I know . AndI cant believe the love for Dion. Yeah he might have potential but that wont win you games unless you actually play and show it. Aside from that Oline has been the bigger problem. Yet its an easy fix. Yeah right still waiting to see it.

I heard the Broncos would be interested in Jordan. Miller for Jordan, make it happen Ross.
