Do the findings put Tannehill's leadership skills into question?

Simple answer, no, it most definitely does not. Next question...

I just think it's a valid point to consider? Why didn't the leader of the team do anything to help this situation, especially when you consider he was publicly good friends with the perpetrators.

Only people who dislike the player/QB in question would even consider this. One player CANNOT be another player's keeper 100% of the time, nor will some players really even respond to leadership overtures from another teammate at all..

People have bashed Tim Tebow for the actions of hernandez etc. ... usually because they have an agenda to oppose Tebow for other matters unrelated.

Same is true here. The anti-Tannehill folks have an agenda and I can see it clearly.

There is a definite negative correlation between Tannehill bashing and IQ. I don't know if it's Tannehill bashing that lowers your IQ or if a lower IQ causes you to bash Tannehill.

There is also a correlation between the level of moronic bashing of Tannehill and the ridiculous fawning, sycophantic praise and adulation for the sainted russell wilson.

That's the one thing I got the most out of all of this, is that "football" seemed to be about the last thing on these guys' minds. When I look at the players on Seattle and SF, they seem hyper focused on playing football at the highest level. You can actually see that intensity and focus in their top guys' eyes. That seemed to be lacking here across the board. I mean, you had your LT coming skipping a practice after DRINKING all night after a horrific loss? Where was the fire? Where was the focus from these guys? Still more worried about pulling stupid pranks than focusing on the season and getting better.

When they were 8-6 coming off the Patriots win no one was thinking the team was not focused on football. I don't completely disagree with what you're saying but I also think you're playing the result of the season. It's too convenient now to say the last two games were lost because of this nonsense. They lost for various reasons but not on distractions of the incognito/Martin fiasco.

First, I am Tannehill fan. But after reading through the findings I can't help but think that Tannehill may not be quite the leader we want him to be.

We don't know if Tannehill personally witnessed any of the incidents in the report, but if he witnessed the trainer incident and did nothing to stop it, that is a big black mark for me.

What we do know is that he was tight with Richie and Pouncey, so he must've witnessed at least some of this awful behavior being directed at others in the organization and seemingly did nothing to reign it in.

This whole incident speaks to a huge leadership void in the lockerroom. The QB is supposed to be THE leader of the team.

I understand he is young, but you would hope he would be able to demand that teammates be respectful of others.

Thoughts?

It's a valid point. Tannehill doesn't seem to be the most vocal guy, but you would think he would have control of his oline. Would Peyton's line behave like this? I dont know but I doubt it. The problem is that Incognito who is a guard, is the leader of the team. It's true that Martin is mentally weak but it just seems that there is a lack of focus on this team and ultimately that's on Philbin.

He hasn't been mentioned once in any of this. He's not the ringleader of the group. I don't see him being responsible for any of it.

I was watching a special about Jerry Rice last night. Jerry Rice attended the special teams practice all the time even though he never played special teams.
He thought that that part of the game was so important that he attended to make sure everyone on the team knew how important it was. If he was there they had better take it seriously.
Not to knock RT17 but that is a real leader. Kind of agree with OP that he should have known more.

How many QBs do you actually think would do what you're claiming Jerry Rice did? I can't see any of them doing such a thing yet you make it seem like Tannehill is a bad teammate bc he didn't watch other players practice.

Meh. Everyone on the team knew the way Incognito and his band of morons acted. Im sure they knew about how they treated that trainer and some of the other linemen. Someone on that team had to step up and be the true leader. Someone had to step up and tell Incognito to STFU and his behavior isnt cool or welcomed on this team. Someone needed to step up and tell Incognito that this team is not about that nonsense and instead its about football and most importantly winning football. The QB wouldve been a good person to do it.

I will say this........ I guarantee the best QBs in this league who are the leaders of their team wouldve shut all of that **** down and let Incognito know he can get with the program or get ****ing lost.

Why did Brady allow Aaron Hernandez to go off the rails then?

Btw your guarantee means dick considering you're just completely making an assumption.

Yeah, cause guys like Aldon Smith are totally dedicated to the game and wouldn't do anything off field to jeopardize it. :bobdole:

Ryan Tannehill is not a Leader. He is a medicare QB. Remember Chad Henne. Anyone want to bet a Steak Dinner, Tannehill goes 8-8 next year, and we draft another QB for 2015? That's my bet. Pat Devlin might have more upside - no joke man. Tannehill is average!

Why hasn't Devlin ever played then if he's got more upside?

Skape I have seen better posts from you. This is just silly .I expected some thing like this out of sone of the haters or trolls. You can't put this on Tannenhill anymore than. Brady controlling his TE! Or some of the thugs on the Ravens like Ray Lewis! Cant blame Flacco for Rays actions!

He should be a leader but he hasnt accomplished anything to demand respect.

Challenging these guys physically, I dont know if Tannehil wins there. He may. He may not.

I once defended a friend of mine because they body slammed him so hard during horseplay that you could detect a malicious intent. The other guy was my friend as well but we almost went at each other over the incident while the guy whom I was defending didnt say a f@cking word. After they were able to separate the skirmish i started in defense of this p@$$y- unacceptable language be damned because thats exactly what he was in the moment, a p@$$y- I told him to go f@ck himself and it affected our relationship from then on.

While it may not be the gallant thing to do, sometimes you have stay out of **** that doesnt involve you. Sometimes, integrity can get the better of you. In my experience, not minding my own business has gotten me into trouble more often than not.

Until Tannehill starts hitting Wallace for bombs, gleaming of prowess and conquest, then he can command respect.

Marino was the f@cking man winning games single-handedly. Tannehil is a boy that hasnt produced a winning season.

Yeah, because Tom Brady did such a great job of shutting down a known gang member and likely three time murderer Aaron Hernandez.

Well, Tom Brady did not hang out with Aaron Hernandez at clubs and partake in da gangsta life. Brady was too busy preparing himself for games.

Youre talking about things that happened AWAY from the facility and everyones view. I knew someone would bring it up though.

If Aaron Hernandez had treated a team trainer like a piece of trash on a regular basis on team time at the team facilities, you can bet your ass Brady wouldve shut him down in a hurry. Hell he probably wouldnt have had to. One of the many guys on that team who follow Brady's lead wouldve probably taken care of it before Brady even found out.
