Do we need a youg LB next year ?

Brandon Spikes with our first 2nd round pick. He's actually a really nice player and compliments Crowder well because of the fact that he is awesome in coverage. Terrell Suggs is only 25 years old and the trifecta went after Pace (27 years old, half the player Suggs is) last offseason, so I'm guessing they will go after him unless they make a WR like Roy Williams their #1 target. I would love any combination (ILB and OLB) of Spikes, Dansby, Suggs, and Selvie. Now, as for Crowder, I would love to see him extended. He's been playing very well so far this season except in pass coverage. That's why Spikes or Dansby would fit nicely with him inside because they have shown that they can cover when asked to do so.

do we need to? Not really as Crowder is playing very well and both Reggie Torbor and Akin Ayodele are fairly young. However, there are some very good LB prospects that project well into the 3-4...

Rey Mauluga
James Laurinitis
Brian Cushing
Darry Beckwith
Aaron Curry
Marcus Freeman

those guys all have a shot to go in Round 1, but there is a lot of depth behind them

Clint Sintim
Dannell Elerbe
Jasper Brinkley
Josh Mauga
Scott McKillop
Antonio Appleby

and if you want to include DEs that could make the transition to OLB
Michael Johnson
Tim Jamison
Brian Orakpo
Matt Shaughnessy
Pannel Egboh

and these are the seniors this does not include DEs like George Selvie, Maurice Evans, Jessie Sapp, or Brandon Graham nor does it have any top underclassmen LBs (um... not sure who would be top guys as underclassmen yet. Maybe Sergio Kendell but for the future 2 Big 10 guys to watch are Obi Ezeh and Navarro Bowman)

in short, this is a good year to build up the 3-4 if we choose to.

i would love to have spikes on this team next year with that pick or the one after. always around the ball, gets consistent pressure when blitzing, solid coverage skills, hard hitter, tough as nails, big, strong, fast - pretty much everything you want in a LB.

our draft is going to be pretty tight unless we pick up maybe a roy williams and/or an asomugha. i see us going OLB in round 1 - then WR if we haven't picked up a #1 in FA - then CB if we haven't picked one up - then NT if none in FA - then maybe ILB. spikes will be long gone by round 3 so some magic needs to happen for him to be on this team.

i also see us going OLB in round 1 but have no idea who that will be just yet. wouldn't have a problem with selvie.

Pass rushing specialist (OLB), CB, WR, MLB will likely be what we focus on next year ...

Parcells wants the next LT .... to help this defense become elite. That is more important than DBs in the big scheme of things.

If there isn't one next year in the 1st round, then it will be CB, WR with the #1 / 2s ... albeit, i don't remember Parcells ever really having any great WRs ... so to me its must LB / DB all day long.

Maybe throw in a Jason Ferguson replacement along the way ....

Unless Parcels is drafting the second coming of Lawrence Taylor.
No not on day one, especially with the holes at WR, CB

we dont need a solid draft we need a spectacular draft for a change.
this crap of dafting olinmen is old. we need 2 wr's one more te, and 2 dt's and 2 cb's the other posistions can be fixed in free agency.

here is our real needs.
#1 wr
#2 2 cb's
#3 1 te
#4 2 defensive tackles

#5 another wr

I agree!

typically when people are/have unintelligent, a bad social life, lose to people on the internet in points, they fall back to attacking typos or grammar errors while still understanding the text that was present. Just a defensive mechainsm for the stupid. They need a lil ego boost instead of replying to the topic directly, so they attack.

=)

Guys, wasn't trying to make fun of anyone. I am one of the worst at grammar. Get a life. When I typed "just kidding" that meant I didn't mean it seriously. Some of you need to grow up a bit and quit being so defensive. And another thing, I am nothing like you described. I am married with four kids and have a blessed life. Stop judging people you don't know. If you want to do that kind of thing, I guess you are the stupid one!
