Do we need to be worried about Shelley Smith?

Of course it's still very early but it seems like Shelley has been getting torched so far. Does anyone have any positive evidence of solid play from him so far? Are we gonna regret letting big Paul go?

You are talking about Shelley Smith who is OL then you switch to Big Paul who is DL...

what the sam hell does paul solie have to do with shellie smith?

personally? i think your smoking lsd laced crack.

Shelly Smith is a backup who plays like a backup, and I'm not worried about that.

BS he will be a stud because we signed him, much like James was a good pick once we drafted him

What exactly is a D-Lineman supposed to do when no one has pads on? Decapitate Branden Albert and punt his head 50 yards down field proving he's worth a roster spot?

He's the starter at this point... I like him a lot for his run blocking and his movement skills, but his pass blocking needs work I may go and try to find out which Rams games he started and see where his specific weakness is in pass blocking...hopefully it is technique more then anything else...

So far we have read about players playing some flag footall, and Benton trying to incorporate his scheme (new to all), wotking on technique, and movement. It means nothing.

Should we be looking to trade or cut Grimes for giving up 3 TD's or to Wallace to score 48 TD's?

Shelly's starts were vs Tenn- 1 sack, 0 hits, and 3 hurries, with a VG run grade of 4.1. TB (came in after 3 snaps)- 0- 1-3, with a VG run grade of 3.2. Seattle- 1- 1- 3, with a run grade of 0.1 (season over and getting beat by the Champs).

However, this is from PFF, and I'm sure you will prefer to do your own research, and correct their mistakes.

Thanks...again...seeing what his specific mistakes were and what his issues are in pass blocking can be....informative...

I'm not worried yet. Him getting abused by Starks is not overly alarming. Starks is a darn good DT and he practices like he plays...but if every practice is more of Starks abusing Smith then it's time to worry.

You can use your Joe Biden GIF's, but Sam Brenner is not an answer, Smith may not be and while I am a big Garner guy, he is not a full time player. Wade Smith knows the system under Coach Benton and he had a good season last year. Daryn Colledge is another possible pick up.
You do realize that only one of the guys that you just named are the guys competing for guard spots, right?
