does the chargers win over denver help us?

The whole AFC is totally beatable. Anyone who gets in could go on a run and make it to the Meadowlands.

Denver can obviously be beaten if a team plays well against them.

NE just lost Gronk for the year and was obviously beatable before that.

The Bungles are the Bungles. Andy Dalton is Andy Dalton.

The Colts have looked like straight dog **** over the past few weeks. I think they are the weakest of the 8 teams in the mix.

KC is good but, really has yet to beat anyone that matters much.

The Ravens are obviously beatable.

San Diego has been up and down all year.

We have lost to the Bills AT HOME when they started Thad Lewis at QB.

Yea..... all of these teams have flaws and any of the 8 could get hot and make a run. Lets hope its us. Im not scared to play any of these other teams. If we play our A game, we can beat any of them.

How much are we kicking ourselves for blowing that game to the Bills at home and losing to the 0-8 Bucs on the road..... Just those two wins would have us sitting at 9-4, a shot to move into 1st in the division with a win this weekend and be sitting in the 2 seed while still only a game out of homefield advantage throughout? Unreal.

I just shows that if fins get hot and win these games coming up, and get to the dance, the fins could go far. Fins just need to get to the playoffs and then it's a whole new game. I mean we've seen the two superbowls from the giants, where the giants were inconsistent throughout the season and lost games they should have won, but then picked it up the last three or 4 games and went to 9-7 or 10-6, and then let that momentum get them to the superbowl. I'm not saying this will happen, but miami is set to get hot at the end like the giants and let that momentum carry forward. The fins would have the record like the giants if fins get in as fins would be either 10-6 or 9-7 if fins get in.

doesnt make sense because we have 6-3 record and ravens r 6-4 so if they lose to lions and beat cincy and ne they would be 8-4
yet we win 2 of 3 we would be 8-4

Actually, just entered the scenario in the tiebeacker machine. If we all three end up at 9-7, and if the one Bal is to Det, then it said Bal gets in because they have the head-to-head vs. us and the better conference record than SD. So for us to win the tiebreacker, the Bal loss would have to be to an AFC team.

i guess thats justifiable i just really wish there was a better way to handle tiebreakers in the NFL like they do in the MLB...1 game playoff...1 quarter playoff...something...

sounds like yall are overthinking it...we can beat the pats, and that's what is important right now.

win out, no doubt.

This is so true. Add in the fact that if we beat the Pats we'll already have wins over three of the four top seeds and you never know.

First things first. Just beat New England.

In the sense that if all 3 teams (Ravens, Fins, Chargers) all finish the season with the same record, Miami gets into the playoffs out of the 3. I honestly don't think it will come to that, but if it does, a Chargers win isn't hurting us. However, a Denver loss puts the Pats in a better position for the #1 seed. Ugh. :err:

But a Patriots loss this weekend will put them back behind Denver again. I think Cincy gets the #2 seed. Indy is playing like crap, NE is not that good and lost Gronk. Cincy has a relatively easy schedule to end it. @PItt, vs. Minn, vs. Balt. I think they win out and the Pats lose this week vs us.

This is what I got to make the playoffs:

1. Dolphins have a better record than the Ravens and Chargers. Simple.

2. Dolphins win out. Patriots lose out. Dolphins win AFC East through better division record.

3. Bengals lose to the Steelers or Vikings, and Dolphins win out. They get in regardless of who wins between the Ravens and Bengals. If the Ravens win out too, they would win the division, which means Miami gets the tiebreaker over Cincy for the WC spot. If the Bengals win, the Dolphins get in with a better record than the Ravens.

4. Dolphins, Ravens, and Chargers finish with the same record. Dolphins have the tie breaker due to better conference record.

5. The Chiefs lose out and Dolphins win out

Yes and No.

No, because Chargers can still jump us in playoffs...anything is possible.

Yes, because if Ravens, Dolphins, and Chargers are in three way tie. Miami gets the wild card due to better conference record.

Pretty simple. Win Sunday. That is all that matters, this week. Nothing else.

So can we move into the 6th seed this week with a loss if Baltimore also loses?
