Dolphins contact DeCosta

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 1m
New intriguing candidate for Dolphins' GM job: Ravens asst. GM Eric DeCosta, who has been contacted for interview per NFL source. Story tk.

Gonna be a really tough get but... there ya go

This is a great candidate, what I really like about him is that the Ravens are not a part of Blesto, nor do they use any scouting service.

They truly do ALL of their own scouting and have been very very good at it.

Probably won't happen but Ross should make him an offer he can't refuse.

Think about the Raven cap situation

Given the bloated contract Joe Flacco is about to command, getting out now could be very attractive to up-in-coming GM

Whaaaa? Guess you lost me on that response. How is DeCosta a yes man?

lol...I'm making fun of the haters who have been saying this for every candidate we've had interest in.

That's a good point. Flacco's contract made it difficult for them to get enough talent around him...don't think he cared but now he knows what it feels like to sit at home during the playoffs for the first time.

Ugh. I wish we could at least interview him just to shut up these negative reporters.

Ravens asst GM Eric DeCosta has no interest in the Miami job. He's the GM-in-waiting at one of the best franchises in football

I give them credit for reaching out to him.

Sounds like a great evaluator of talent and an out of the box thinker. Just what Ross wants. Let's hope he wants to interview.

Your next GM.............

Peter King and any other media head can asume all they like. You never know what another man is thinking. Decosta could want to start his own thing and not be considered the guy that stepped into Ozzies shoues. You never know. Miami's GM job is a little more attractive then people is belieivng.
I for one do not see baltimore blocking him from the interview. I dont see them as that kind of orginazation. I bet they encourage him to take the interview. For him to feel comfortable staying in B'more if that is what he choose to do. There is nothing worse than being in a position and WONDERING IF you should have tried somethign else.

I'm excited because you all are but to be honest I have never heard of this guy. Can someone tell me why everyone is getting so excited and obviously prefers him over any other candidate we're rumored to have interest in?

Again though let's make this clear. He's got it made in Baltimore and has been all but promised the job when Ozzie steps down. It would take an amazing offer to get him.

But if Ross could pull that hire off...

Ross needs to get his checkbook out and start making it rain since he stuck with Ireland for so long.

Well...you have to remember he was the hottest GM prospect last year as well and made it very clear he is not leaving Baltimore and turned down many opportunities.

Ross will have to offer something pretty special I think to budge this guy...thats my take anyway.
